Title: Been trying to think of a name for a cryptocurrency for about 3 hours in total..
Post by: Doubie on January 29, 2016, 06:51:28 AM
If anyone has any name suggestions for a sha-256 (unless someone else thinks I should go with scrypt or something) coin it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Kai.

GO
sha-256 but rewards 1 unit to every active node every minute
you still have to hash, but the reward does not go to a winner it goes to all players

maybe some rules
like penalty timeouts for posting bad TX
must running +10min with sync chain before you start earning rewards
x2 x3 x5 reward for longest up and runners

That sounds pretty good, I have decided I want this coin to be what the community wants, not just what I want.

What reason do you have for making another alt coin?

If it is a good reason, try to think of a unique name that relates to the purpose of the coin.

Now, now, that's a wicked sense of humour you have there.

The Foundry is a piece of artwork (broadly) intended to highlight the doublethink that attends popular misconceptions of cryptography.

In essence, it's a humorous piece that hopes to provoke reflection on the range and type of hashing algorithms.

There's an oblique insider joke in that the template does actually exist and that the service could actually work as advertised (but I haven't got all the algos covered nor do I have any motivation for offering such a service on a commercial basis).

Incidentally, the coin names in the Foundry were inspired by a Snickers ad  (featuring Christopher Ryan from “The Young Ones”) ...

(It's one of our favourites for the usefulness of the observation - “anna acrobat, anna bunsenburner” has been a persistent meme chez nous since then.)

Cheers

Graham

There have been a lot of coins for specific industry,if you are going to come out one,you should first to a thorough research and what benefits all users can get from that coin,i believe the success of a coin depends on the niche and the industry and if the groups that are involved on that industry adopted that coin..
