Title: Investing my Bitcoin
Post by: raviverma191091 on February 02, 2016, 04:28:32 PM
Hi,
I'm quite new here, in fact this is my first post. I am a college student and I saved around 60,000 INR and bought 2 BTC in December last year. I'm looking forward to invest them since I've lost around 0.5 BTC investing in BTCJAM. I don't think I can trust that website. Moreover even A rated users have opted for refinance loans. I agree this could be due to fluctuating BTC price but for people like me it's really difficult to recover such a loss.
Thanks in advance to all those who're going to give me good advises.

Well I can tell you what not to do. Stay away from any ponzi schemes. Anything that claims they will double your BTC in X amount of days or hours.

I trade my btc and some other crypto coins on exchanges. Do some research first on whatever you decide to do with them.

There is no investment opportunity for Bitcoin that doesn't run a real risk of defaulting, either thru theft or stupidity: the environment is toxic.
Bitcoins are for spending or hodling, not for investing.

I'd suggest that due to your "small" principle, you go to Hashnest.com.
Once there, purchase some S7 power at the market, wait for them to be released, or blow a few spare mbtc on the S7 Lottery (you never know?)

You could also buy into miningsweden.se but that might not be profitable.

The reason I said "small" is because sites like Bitfury only accpet investments upwards of 170 BTC/$500000.

Yes stay away from any site saying they will double your bitcoins even cloud mining is risky these days. I would say holding your bitcoin would be a good investment on its own.If you like you can try advertising affiliate offers through advertising sites that accept bitcoin as payment.

Thank you for your replies! Yes, I'm staying away from every doubler scheme and any ponzi too. I was thinking about hashnet though seems like a good idea. I checked out bitfury as well, their machine is quite nice I'd say better than bitmaintech's s7. It may be helpful to my friend who was talking aout buying s7 and just lost 1 BTC in satoshidice.com. I told him not to risk it but why'd he listen? So, I know now that I need to stay away from gambling sites as well.

from what I'm learning, the best investments is to have total control of your bitcoin ever, whitout using 3rd party services

Better be careful with hashnest. The new batches of S7 is now at half the price of their first batch and I'm not sure until when will they decrease the price of the hardware. Too much hashes also being sold in the hashnest market making the price go at its lowest every single day not to mention the difficulty changes affect the earnings a lot.

In what world is this off topic, this is very on topic :/,

I invest Btc by using a pit of paper "I bought .5 BTC @300 sell @400+change between €/USD from 23/may/2014" and when the Btc achieves the price I set I sell, bam profit. A real investment is education, change of location, owning your own business. Shares are terrible, banks offer terrible returns. And everything else is to good to be true. And if you have to resell your investment to other investors that's a pyramid scheme, only good if you're the one who started it.

mining stuff

Anyone who puts serious money into hardware with the 16nm arms race going on and halving just round the corner is asking for trouble.

Where/How did you manage to lose that amount ofmoney. If it was 1BTC that you invested in a ponzi, I would suggest you give up investing for a while!

Actually we would think about bitcoin as real money, and then we should look for a profitable option to invest that we can learn to manage according to our preferences and interests. In my personal case I have decided to trade my bitcoins in the forex market, and it has been a very suitable and profitable decision for me, but I am aware that this business is not for everyone.

no risk no gain. invest minute amounts of bitcoin (0.01) on ponzis. pays once? ok, dont do it again. this way you avoid losing it all at once. I've gained ~0.4 btc from this method and still using it :)

That's terrible advice, that's like saying pyramid schemes are ok if your at the top, stop advising people to try any of it

This has to be one of the worst BTC investment tips I have read on this forum.

But everyone can have an opinion

And if you really had something to offer you wouldn't recommend using scams to make money
