I just got approved as a reseller for Shell gasoline today!!! I'm getting in $50 gas cards for now, I can increase the increment to $100 if the demand is high enough.

I had to put a little bit of a premium on the cards (0.1btc) to offset my shipping because of how the system works but that means, as always, the price you see is the price you pay!!!

watching thread.  I fill up at a shell near my home all the time, I'll try this out soon.  Can the first purchaser confirm their experience with shipping, timeliness etc.?  Now I guess I'll be mining gasoline :-) lol

I'm getting a call from Shell tomorrow morning (Wednesday) and I have a few questions to ask them so I don't have to put out $2500 all at once.

Could you do marathon or sheetz cards?  There is only one shell station in my town and I'm on the opposite side.  Also, it is probably the most expensive one in the area due to its location.

I'm in contacts with other merchants but I'm not sure how many will allow me to re-sell as I'm doing haha. I'm waiting on British Petroleum right now. If there is a high demand I can try to contact Marathon or Sheetz. I'm in California so I'm limited on which companies are popular. Where are you located? I don't have Marathon or Sheetz here.

Oh and yes, Beyond Petroleum. I couldn't figure out what BP stood for. It's the green and yellow sort of flower icon?

BP is an acronym for British Petroleum.  The "Beyond Petroleum" is a merely a tagline/slogan. Up until 1998 they were called "British Petroleum Company PLC".

Just an update for everyone, Shell media department may or may not look at my site so I had to take down the Shell logo and name just in case. Once I'm approved I can actually have the name again but until then I'd rather be safe than sorry.

But it's still the same product, I just can't host the "Shell" name yet :)

New Update!

The order went through and the cards are on their way to me! The funny thing is, I can sell the cards but I can't technically say the company name. So I can move product without saying what they are :P. Stupid corporate stuff.

So once you have them in hand, then you can start shipping them to customers?

Correct. I just can't use the company name haha. It's some weird marketing approval process that I'm doing with Shell. It shouldn't take more than a couple business days but I can sell the product all I want as long as I don't put their logo or name on my website...yet.

My first batch is 20, $50 gas cards, 4 of which have already been purchased. I'm hoping they come in Saturday but at the latest it should be Monday. Once I have them in hand I'll be shipping orders same day until I run out, after which I'll just order more and continue :)

EDIT:  Also, how often does your site update prices to reflect the current BTC value?

I usually update the prices/exchange rate when I wake up in the morning. I usually choose the low end for the last 24 hours because of the volatility of the coins still. Every morning, my time, there should be a bit of a price update though.

Whew I was getting worried someone stole them out of the mail haha. Glad you got them!

I also ordered some cards and they came on Saturday.
I would recommend using 2 envelopes, or taping the envelope prior to mailing.
I also would recommend wrapping the cards in paper or put in a piece of cardboard inside the envelope so people won't feel the cards inside and try to steal them.
The envelope the cards came in was torn at the side, but nothing was missing.
All legit gift cards.
Other than the envelope issue, everything was great and I will order again.

Thanks very much for the feedback! I'm sorry the envelope was torn at the side. We'll try to figure out a shipping solution for the orders in the future. Possibly a small piece of firm cardboard to fill out the entirety of the envelope.

Just shipped out the 15th gas card as well!!!
