Title: Expiriences with PP chargebacks/disputes/fraud?
Post by: rush_btc on February 06, 2016, 08:51:22 AM
Hello netizens  :)

As a new trader on lbc a first went off trying to sell my coins for pp.
The first trade came in quick and the buyer was very cooperative
and friendly. The next days, after checking data i came into conclusion
that the transaction is 99% fraudulent.
I have done a few more pp transactions the next days and i stopped since i had
a bad feeling about that first transaction.
Nothing happened to my pp after a week, but should someone start the... countdown?  :P

What should i expect and how long would it take for a charge-back to arrive? (if arrives)
I have read about 48 hours to 6 months. Quite a long time, isn't?

Any experiences/advices will be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Well does that buyer have a good reputation on LocalBitcoins? If he's ID verified/Has a good reputation then you probably shouldnt worry about it. Otherwise consider your coins gone  >:(

He had verified id but pp was unverified(i saw that the next day >:()
also i emailed to pp email..... email not active. LOL
then i went to check his lbc profile.... "user deactivated"

This was my first sale man, i wasn't prepared enough >:(

you should always do some research before doing any kind of business on the internet.
if you did then you'd probably saw the unverified paypal and would have known that there's something that we call escrow for most transaction involving bitcoin. well in case of paypal tx escrow are mostly useless though. even the most experienced trader can get burned when it comes to paypal tx.

keep  some screenshots of your pms, transaction IDs in your chat and show it to paypal when dispute comes. or maybe show it now, email their support because you have a bad feeling  ;D those who might want to file chargeback might not be successful due to your screenshots and PMs as far as  iknow paypal honor these stuff.
