Title: Which wallet are you using? Post by: tommorisonwebdesign on February 06, 2016, 09:04:29 PM I was just curious as to what wallets people use and how they keep their coins safe. I use Blockchain.info on my tablet. I don't keep my savings in that wallet due to security issues. On my PC and my Max I use Bitcoin Core. You may have to wait for blockchain to sync but it's way more secure. What are your preferences?

As of a hotwallet, I actually use several applications. I have multibit 0.5.19 installed but don't hold any BTC there and only use it when in need of signing a message, Uphold to store BTC as USD, some bitcoins in Xapo for BTC payments and finally I store a small amount of BTC in Bit-X for my debit card.
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: japerry on February 08, 2016, 10:08:11 AM I'm using Copay with a Ledger HW.1. A standard Copay wallet for my hot wallet and a multi-sig 2 of 3 using the Ledger as one of the co-signers.

Well I do have to remark that using different wallets do different things. I never printed a paper wallet before, but sure is s hell of a lot better than leaving your BTC in a hot wallet.Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Rude Boy on February 10, 2016, 01:42:20 PM i'm using electrum and multibit HD on my PC, coinbase as online wallet. And mycelium wallet on my android.
Among these, my frequent transaction would be from/to my coinbase and mycelium wallets. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: bob123 on February 14, 2016, 01:53:00 PM I wouldnt use blockchain wallet at all.

Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Zeke2345 on February 14, 2016, 06:37:48 PM Rarely touch blockchain anymore and use mycelium for quick transfers p2p or atm.
Looking into other options as I think I should be a little more savy down the road when I get a little more invested in bitcoin. Will check out some of the options in this thread, have stayed away from core due to buying a new laptop soon and not wanting to add anything to the current garbage heap I call a computer. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: hasiramasenju on February 16, 2016, 09:35:58 AM currently i only use blockchain wallet for save my bitcoin but i don't dare to save huge amount bitcoin in my blockchain wallet because some people said it's too risky to save huge bitcoin in blockchain
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: swagkiller69 on February 18, 2016, 11:08:44 PM I use MultiBit, with all my games and stuff I just don't have the space for the full bitcoin wallet :/
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: paja93 on February 18, 2016, 11:18:10 PM BitGo is the best wallet ever ;)
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: -XXIII- on February 19, 2016, 07:27:43 AM I have all my coins in my personal cold storage, addresses created with libbitcoin's `bx` command, stored on encrypted USB drive, and import addresses as needed into either electrum or bitcoind, mycelium for mobile. I would never trust any site or third party to hold onto my coins for more than a few hours at a time, like for trading or purchasing.
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: enhu on February 19, 2016, 08:17:27 AM i hate it when bitcoin core sync for almost forever. i tried to install it on my laptop since i like to have my coins there and that i can bring my laptop to some remote areas. but its such a pain waiting for the sync to be done.
i have a multibithd on my laptop instead, it still sync but not really that long like how bitcoin core would. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: altcoinhosting on February 19, 2016, 08:19:56 AM Electrum and multibit.
I'm thinking about buyin a HW wallet, of at least have a couple paper wallets just in case :) Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Zeke2345 on February 19, 2016, 09:08:47 PM Out of the wallets mentioned, which ones are known to have glitches in sending bitcoin right away?
When using a mobile account I do not want to be hanging and usually place coin in multiple accounts just in case one hangs. But I only cash out usually from a atm and have yet to make a sale otherwise. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Until i get a new HDD i can't run a bitcoin core wallet ( yes im running out of space ), with is the one i would like to use, until then i think that multibit HD will be my current one, easy to use, very secure and really faster. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: DarkStar_ on February 20, 2016, 09:02:31 PM I use Electrum and blockchain.info. Blockchain.info is so that I can access my BTC where ever I go since it's a web wallet.
I use Electrum on my laptop because it's a SPV wallet so you don't have to sync the blockchain which is annoying. It's easy to use and great! Might try using MultiBit HD sometime soon. Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: cooldgamer on February 23, 2016, 08:54:21 PM I use Electrum for when I'm at home, Mycellum for on the go, and Armory on a ColdPi on the rare occasion that I'm holding a decent amount. I use a Yubikey for protection on Electrum and feel pretty safe with it, so I honestly may put the rPi to better use somehow soon..

I just make it more secure by using confirmation code, clue when I forget my password. it's secure enough.Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Kollor on March 07, 2016, 12:54:33 PM I'm still using bitcoin core, its just sucks when it syncs with the network, but its all right, easy to use... just needs patience while waiting, or just needs to do a daily update to make sure that it is ready when you need it..

Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: btc-facebook on March 07, 2016, 03:58:57 PM I'm using blockchain for online & multibit for offline
They are both easy to use. Im just using blockchain and coinbase and the same time i used a web wallet which is good and made only for our country where there so many promo and features i love this wallet ;D Remember that online wallet can be offline too so prevent your savings on online wallet into offline one by copying private key ( as per multibit method ) Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Azarl on March 07, 2016, 04:00:49 PM I use Electrum as my Internet is too slow to download the entire Bitcoincore :D
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: DodoB on March 20, 2016, 10:01:31 AM I use multibit. i like it because it is simplistic and loads faster than the normal client.

XAPO for web based Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: ranochigo on April 02, 2016, 02:54:47 PM I'm using blockchain for online & multibit for offline It is a desktop one. Transferring the private key from an online wallet is significantly less secure than generating a new address on the desktop client. Online wallets do have knowledge of your private key and there is a possibility of them keeping the private key even though it has been deleted from the client side. The RNG used when generating the private key could also be flawed. Post by: Hugroll on April 02, 2016, 04:04:38 PM right now 90% of my coins are in a paper wallet, which im using on my iphone using bither app. the other ~10% is in my coinbase wallet, which i use for regular spending. i really like the coinbase app look.
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: BitcoinSupremo on April 06, 2016, 06:04:53 PM Using electrum on Linux on my desktop Pc with it holding 100% of my funds, online , saved the seed in different offline places.
I am keeping also Mycelium on my android but this wallet has to see its first satoshi yet :P Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Monnt on April 18, 2016, 05:19:27 AM I use a Ledger wallet. It opens through a chrome app which is super fast and can be downloaded on a jiffy if you don't have it already. The wallet itself is like a Trezor, air-gapped, which is the best convenient alternative to a cold wallet.
Title: Re: Which wallet are you using? Post by: Karartma1 on April 22, 2016, 05:10:45 PM I have several wallets with several addresses on different platforms. I use Electrum on Linux, Copay on Windows and Simple Bitcoin Wallet on Android. So far so good.
