Post by: hector3115 on February 09, 2016, 09:33:36 PM
But do not have the technical expertise.  Is there anyone or any company that does this sort of thing?  I am from the Chicago area.  Please PM me if interested.  Thanks.

Well, what do you mean by I want to mine?

If you want to have the miner and see what you bought mining, I'm afraid you'll have to get into the technical part.
If you just want to transform $ to btc through mining, then cloud mining is your answer my dear sir! Genesis is a good site, reliable but not really profitable (as much of cloud mining contracts in fact). You can also buy mining time in some site, rent a miner =)

I agree with that. The cloud mining is very expensive. It will just make profits to the operators of the site.

If you don't want to get into the technical part of mining, you can invest in some cloud mining sites.

I will gotta go off-topic, is genesis mining still paying? I saw some post few days ago that they turned to scam and I cannot confirm it because I don't have an investment in their website.

I can say as I bought a life time contract few years ago. They're still paying. It's a bit low but they pay no doubt about that.

I see you have posted in the altcoin area so I assume you are referring to altcoins and that you wish to mine and not bitcoin.

Genesis mining does offer a few altcoins and also some ETH mining, but to be honest you would be better off mining yourself.
If you know which coin you are interested in, go to their thread in the announcements and from there you will be able to see which mining pools are setup to mine the coin, with this information you can join the pool and then rent some hashpower at one of many sites, a site I use is miningrigrentals.

This is the easiest route to mining without having to know too much, or you could spend some time and research on how mining works and then take it from there.

If you want it to be easy you can mine a coin with only a wallet I am mining Bytecoin using their wallet it has a built in mining on it so you will not encounter any technical skills and also you can download Minergate it's a push button software where you can mine crypto note coins
