Title: Zimbabwe Banknotes: 10 Trillion Dollar Banknotes - .115 BTC shipped Post by: johnniewalker on January 12, 2013, 11:11:00 AM 9 Bills Left, .115BTC/eaBTC shipped anywhere in US!
I imagine most people know the story behind this. If you don't, type "Zimbabwe Banknotes" in a YouTube search. People are actually selling things like Silver and Gold to buy these things. There is even talk about the US investing in Zimbabwe. Legally you must "Pay The Bearer". I just hope the country that takes control of Zimbabwe someday will honor these-because that WILL happen lol. I have Prices include shipping! Please PM if interested. Thanks for reading! http://s8.postimage.org/opp92qp1t/photo_93.jpg (http://postimage.org/image/opp92qp1t/) Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe. Post by: polymorphous on January 12, 2013, 06:58:20 PM I'd really prefer to be a zillionaire, but trillionaire seems pretty dope also.
Shoot me a PM. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe. Post by: odolvlobo on January 13, 2013, 02:46:10 AM I imagine most people know the story behind this. There is absolutely no chance that these notes will ever have any value beyond their collectible value. The only reason that people buy them is for the novelty of having real currency will absurd values. They are fun to show friends, especially the 100 trillion dollar notes! People who believe that there is no way that the dollar could ever become worthless might think twice after seeing these. The U.S. has already started down this road with talk of a 1 trillion dollar coin. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe. Post by: johnniewalker on January 13, 2013, 03:06:18 AM I think Zimbabwe is the US somewhere down the line-hopefully not our lifetime. Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ubJp6rmUYM
(Summary: In Zimbabwe, banknotes are only worth the paper they're printed on. Although, the notes shown in the film were of much smaller denomination; 20, 50, etc. So, to buy literally anything you have to pay in gold. So everyone mines gold all day, everyday. 1 loaf of bread goes for .1 gram of gold) Yes, these notes are a novelty. Even the coin/paper money collecting world has embraced them for their absurd nature. So whats funny is these things are worth money-and will probably be worth more soon. They're all over eBay for several dollars a note. What I'm curious about is how that guy who does the YouTube video got all of his notes. Because even though the whole thing is a joke, he has A LOT of banknotes. Know what else is sad? I have seen a few videos where people are actually investing in these banknotes. They've sold all their silver and gold to buy these things and they're just waiting til "the US invests in Zimbabwe banknotes". Some people are SO DUMB. Actual Zimbabwe currency: 1USD=8.72082 ZAR Well, it is true that ZAR is used by Zimbabwe, but ZAR is the currency of South Africa (the South African Rand). Zimbabwe currently has no currency of its own. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe. Post by: johnniewalker on January 15, 2013, 08:29:32 AM PRICE REDUCED!

Even 100,000,000,000,000 is less than one cent. And the fixing is quite different for any day. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe. My understanding is that all forms of the Zimbabwe dollar are worthless, and these notes only sell for their collectible/novelty value. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! Wikipedia says the following: 2 February 2009 300 000 000 000 000 ZWD - 1 USD. That's 300 trillion to one in 2009. And inflation was a couple of hundred thousand percent in 2011. So they are practically worthless. Title: Re: Zimbabwe Banknotes: You're a Trillionair! But in Zimabwe.
