what  bitcoin digital currency dosent have an official fb page  i think it is

Who would lead such a page? Network is decentralised, therefore in fact anyone can create one and lead it. Like this, for example (I don't ono whose it is, so don't blame me for advertising) - https://www.facebook.com/BITCOlN/

There is nothing official with bitcoin so its impossible to have an official facebook page for bitcoin. If you or anyone else want to make one, feel free to do so.

If you love bitcoin, make a facebook page and publish a the official page :P Because bicoin does not controlled by anyone (?)

We do not roll like that, we leave the Facebook signup for the Ripple guys. Once you include Social media into the mix, you paint a bull's-eye on your back for

every hacker and thief out there. Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous for a reason... to protect your identity from people with criminal intent. Use Facebook to

socialize with friends and family and keep Crypto currencies away from that. Also... It's a honey trap for 3letter agencies.  ::)

Bitcoin is not led by any central figure nor has official representation. It is impossible for bitcoin to have official facebook page.
Many bitcoin companies, services and personalities have their own facebook pages and you can follow them, that is sufficient.

That would indeed be useful. For people who do not know what Bitcoins are then they can for example extract information.
The fact would be really useful for people who do not know what Bitcoins.

creating an official bitcoin page can lead to easy for others to spot it and then it will be not be like less privacy.dnt think if some more peoples will know about bitcoin then bitcoin will be risky insted that word is said for owr wallet .by seeing a bitcoin address we cant tell who is the owner but inviting new peoples to have a wallet is still secure ;)

dont have any official social media on bitcoin.org,and i believe bitcoin.org is official bitcoin website,but i dont see official social media.

Yeah thing is an "official" fb page would mean the person behind it would be "the official leader" of btc community.

When you see how hard we fight for the size issue we can dubt it's possible to speak in one voice one day ^^

Yeah its not like bitcoin is a company or organisation, anyone can make a web page, facebook page, twitter, blog.  what ever they want and noone can stop them we all own bitcoin........ :D

There is no official page and if there was, who would control it and who would expose him/herself identity in publicly that way?? I don't see the point, really.

There is no such need for an official or separate facebook page to promote bitcoin. Once you promote through social media it looks to be a business and someone who has no idea about bitcoin too will join it and that makes no sense.

You think it is what? Also, bitcoin does very well on its own without facebook. Life can exist outside facebook.

Bitcoin doesn't need a Facebook page. Facebook page is not related to successes or usefulness... BTW, I don't have a facebook account as well...

A fb page would not get a lot of traction, as bitcoin users don't like to advertise the fact that they are.

I agree that bitcoin doesn't need a FB page. However, not all bitcoiners are quiet. I am happy to share and advertise bitcoin with my friends (old and new), colleagues, relatives and family members.

I guess it's true, so far I have not found the original page in facebook fans page, but I join the fan page on facebook, which always provide information about bitcoin, even the price of bitcoin

If Sakamoto is still involve on bitcoin he could have set up one,anyone can set up and no one will complain or ask why you set up one in fact any one can use the word bitcoin on any of his business because it is not copyrighted,i myself have had 5 bitcoin pages

I also think it's convenient for people who do not know what bitcoins yet, so they can read information on that page.

Not necessarily .There are already tons of pages who provide upto date news,discussions,exchanges ,don't think a facebook page is needed when all the technical discussions happens over stack exchange or here or the gh itself.

When I searched for "Bitcoin Facebook" this is the top two results: https://www.facebook.com/bitcoins and https://www.facebook.com/bitcoin.p2p.digital.currency/. Both of them are not official Facebook page as far as I know. Well, the reason had been pointed out by a lot of people above me. If you believe you can lead a Bitcoin Facebook page, feel free to go ahead and make one. However, I believe there is actually many unofficial Bitcoin Facebook page already.

Facebook is a personal media, bitcoin is dispersed, it is a community, should allow a group of people to maintain, so there is no Facebook

Coinbase and some other wallet companies have their facebook and twitter pages. I am not sure about official page of bitcoin.
If anything there please let me. I will follow there as well for promotion and offers.

Doesn't the bitcoin foundation do some advertising to promote bitcoin?  I think they sponsored a college bowl game last year.

Everyone know that "bitcoin'' is a public and decentralized, no one is controlling and handling it. I think any one can make bitcoin related facebook page and promote it one his behalf.

Why the hell should bitcoin should have a facebook page? there are thousands of bitcoin related facebook pages. Besides who would keep the page? a centralized mash of who???

Bitcoin is a currency just as your fiat ones.
They dont need Facebook promotion to become popular. They automatically becomes popular through convenient usage.

You might try joining some Facebook community but I dont think it is needed since Bitcointalk is the largest of all. ;)

Since It little aware with the people, many people doesn't know what is bitcoin also So please try to spread bitcoin. If you really looking for high price for the bitcoin in fiat.
As Satoshi speculated we didn't reach ground scratch also in price.

We don't need facebook page, as this forum is taking care of everything, and who knows creating a fb page would be a ponzi one, where you are ask to invest a little amount of bitcoin and they just scam you.

I don't agree with most people here. If we want new blood, Facebook is a great means to achieve it.
Now there isn't an official facebook page for bitcoin for the obvious reason that bitcoin is decentralized, but there are prominent people in the landscape though. But yeah, it's a pity that there is not a page called "bitcoin news" or something that would be regularly updated by, hell, why not anyone who wants to?
