Did i just lose 15, dollars or make 15 plus 20 cents ?
i honest to god have no clue when i should pull out at 6$ ?

I am an asshole bagholder too, I just bought some for the hell of it.  I have some play money so why not?  We'll see what happens.

Lol, exactly.  The truth is a moving target.  And I'm in it for the thrill as well tho I didn't buy all that much.  It's too bad there's not a real wallet for it.  Have to keep it on poloniex which I'm not 100% comfortable doing.

Make some profits from the pumps is fine but don't let people tell you to hold till eth reaches $15 ....$50 .... $500.

Remember, there are thousands of eth mined daily and the number of eth in existence will be billions as time rolls on.  Right now the pump is fueled by speculators, whales, day traders and god-only-knows what other kinds of manipulation. The man on the street is not buying eth.

I went through coinmarketcap history earlier. There have been many many bubbles where coins got to spitting distance from btc. Some are still high but others are worthless or almost so. At the time, they too were going to change the world.

The ultimate goal of any altcoin is to be exchanged for the king > Bitcoin.  Guard your btc with your life.

Over 6 now so if that was your sell time now is about right. Though it is not what I will be doing, but you have to go by what you believe you can afford to lose personally. This is small chips, but if you are learning not a bad amount to crash and burn with (or do well with).

If you are moving small amounts you could even use Kyptokit or MyEtherWallet. Both online wallets, of course, but better than getting Polo, so to speak.

Eth production and numbers seem to be a little vague.
From what I'm gathering, the original "plan" was almost unlimited production with final numbers of eth being over 1 billion. A subsequent "plan" points to a 100 million eth cap.
So ... the "plan" can change and who really knows how many eth will be printed.

It should be safe. It's in beta at the moment, but it's close to being a full release now. I wouldn't expect there to be any horrific, balance destroying bugs to still be lurking in there.

i think you will make 20 dollars or even 25 dollars then you will lose a chunk and be left hanging around with about 7.50 for a while ... then cash out into another project and a similar thing will happen and you will be left with 3.75 and then again and again ...until you just about had enough and put it all into a small little coin which will go da moon and you will have your 15 bucks back. You will withdraw and tell everyone you trade crypto for a living.

Gold would be favored upfront of a financial crisis which we do not have, at the current moment. Well maybe we got some approaching below the surface.

sometimes you just have to take a risk if you have assessed the situation and made your decision. if you believed that your investment in eth is going to pay out, then you have nothing to worry about. trust your gut and wait for the correct time to sell.

even if the price goes down and you sustain losses, $15 is not a big investment so your losses are going to be like $1-$2 top. but you can learn from it. and correct the mistakes next time you invest.

You could have been right, my man.  I'm in the red at this point which is totally consistent with my well-developed knack for losing money.   Just gonna hold and stick pins in my bitcoin doll.

About 25,000 Ethereum are mined daily, that is about 9 million each year. There is no upper limit of the coins. But the inflation will be low in the future.

at $15 will not hurt you much if you lose half of it,and will not give you great joy if you made additional $5,Just study it's market it's still knowledge is power get to know where your investment will lead you

i have started trading altcoin with such small amounts of investment at first. it is a good way to start in this market since it is so risky. you can build up confidence and then go bigger over time.

Don't cash out at a loss. While $15 may be a lot to you considering your replies, cashing out at $6.00 is a guaranteed loss.

Unless you need the money urgently, which if this was the case you had no business investing it in such a speculative market in the first place, just let it ride. It may take awhile to get back to where you bought in, but with time it will. For now just move on with life and keep checking back day-to-day on the price.

It may be back above your entry point in no time, or 3 months, but seeing the interest in Ethereum, I think this is the first of many rides we can expect.

Well if you are able  to wait some years and hold those maybe  2.5 ETH that you got probably will have a better value instead of sell those soon.  

It depends if the Ethereum can have many usages. If there is no usage, the price will be very low, or even zero.

Better Sell Low then Buy Lower for most ETH holders as we don't know how low will it go this time around.

The buyers think the price of $6 is not the top. So they buy and want to sell at much higher price. It is human nature.

I sold all my holding except 0.1 and i am pretty happy that i did. If the price does go up i can make some more money if not i lose 50 cents.

Good for you. If the price dips below 0.005, you can buy some and double your holding of Ethereum.

I think the price will be stable around 0.005-0.007 range. It should consolidate there for a few month before the next rise.

Making $5 is better than losing anything. I think you are playing this just for fun. Otherwise you will put more money.

I think it is a good investment. Your $15 will turn into $150 in a few years. But it will not be this year.

I suggest you cash it out while you can... Ethereum is now just a pump & dump scheme.

The Ethereum price is still higher than a month ago. The pump has not finished. I do not know how high it will go. If the price stays here, it is also good.

That is not always the case with big.

There is an expression "buy the rumor, sell the news".  Sometimes people bid up prices in anticipation of an event so that by the time the event occurs price has already peaked.


In BTC terms ETH is already up 30x from ICO levels.

Guess there's nothing much to do but hold on to it for as long as you can. Eth seems to be getting a word on the market anyway.

I have to say you are newbie investor for us to ask is your $15 safe,there are investors who are comfortable betting or investing hundreds or thousands of dollars,why not take this philosophy on every thing that involves money,only invest what you can afford to lose

Just hold your ETH it'll go up to 15 USD so hold and wait don't panic if market goes down you will not lose much but you'll learn about crypto so just be tension free and hold till you don't se a big spiket in eth.

I think by now the thread starter might have made good amount of money

I wish the member should not get panic by the amount he is going to lose as its not a big amount in contrast he will be getting huge exposure in crypto world

You just loose some dollars from your total 15$. Ether price will go down and that's all.  ;) To make profit in altcoins, you must have either very good knowledge or simple fortune.  ;D

When it is PoS, the cost of mining the new Ethereum will be lower than the PoW phase, so people tend to sell. I wish the PoW can be extended for another year.

The Ethereum price is consolidating. So I think it is good time to buy again.

issue with ETH is that it's too expensive at this point. not sure if $15 will gain you any profit, even if it doubles (which is highly unlikely) you'll only end up $15 richer.  :)

Well considering the price of ETH was around $5 when the OP made his first post, and was around $6.50 when you made yours and told him it will only go down, it has hit a peak of $15 or roughly 3x the OPs original investment. Even if he missed selling at that ATH, it has spent plenty of time > $10 for a solid doubling of his investment.

Say he bought 3 ETH at $5 and sold 1 ETH at $15, he got his money back and 2 "free" ETH to play around with. Not seeing how he could have lost out here.

Even today, the Eth price is still over $12. I think the Athereum could be a good medium term investment.

The price is below $11 now. It seems there is some kind of correction going on with the Ethereum.

I don't see Ethereum taking off any time soon. People keep saying that that it'll take off and surpass Bitcoin. I bought some Eth back when it was around .024 BTC per ether. Saw the price wasn't going anywhere so I sold it all at .029

There is no way to determine where the price will go, whether it be up or down, all I know is that it is far from surpassing Bitcoin. The price is only $8.20, it has ways to go before it's valued at $432

It would make no sense for Ethereum to take off. It has in no way the same eco-system like bitcoin. Like bitcoin i only thrives on it's potential.

Well, all we do is no big or small risks, especially in the trading game. I also had several times the loss of bitcoin in a trade, but that does not stop me to continue learning. determine the choice my friend, and do not despair, because these losses make you stronger

Maybe it was better to sell the Ethereum at $12 a few weeks ago and buy the Ethereum at $5 in a few weeks.

I dont think I would even notice losing this amount of money on this.I did not even know I had ETH until I checked poloniex and found I had some from IPO.Just hold it and forget about it.If it goes to nothing it is just 15 dollars if it goes x 1000% it is a lot of ROI yes?

Currently the price is at down direction and will continue to come to more lower price for a few months more but I think in this year the rise of ethereum is definite and those who have ethereum in their wallets will earn a good amount of profit with that.

VitalikHisBalls sold his scam coin for pimple creme and the goat he nails every night.

He have sold 25% of his coin holding which is really insane move right now as ethereum could have made atleast 50$ per coin when all the traders will move from bitcoin to alts after this halving speculation get boring from real halving. He is still look like a kid so i find this simply non-sense move by kid. Sorry for my bad words.

If the overhang is cleared, that is good news. The price did not drop below $5, it means there is strong support.

ETH is a floating market but you will gain profit if you have patience

The Ethereum price is rising again. It might be caused by the Slock ICO. People are buy it to convert to tokens.
