What is he most likely going to do with them?

What could he do with it that would best help Bitcoin to succeed?

He might slowly mix the coins in his less famous wallets and use it to pay bills or buy some stuff that he needs and live his life like he normally would.

With this amount of money one could help significantly in solving big social issues of mankind, such as hunger or several tropical diseases.

You could have assumed the stuff he can do them as you have assumed the number of bitcoins he owns.That blog article seems superficial.If I was Satoshi Nakamoto I would definitely use them to pay my bills and maybe distribute them among the core developers who are still keeping it going.

Well first he gonna mix them slowly before using them.

Then I bet he could use them for "greater good" cause using them for personnal profit would destroy his reputation and btc rep.

The important part is that he can't dump them. That would instantly destroy btc :/

without knowing who satoshi really is and what he's into we can't tell for sure what he's going to do with his coins (if he still have them).

satoshi can choose to leave them, spend small amounts now and then or just dump the whole thing to make massive fortune (unlikely).

I can't help but suspect that the whole bitcoin community will be scared shitless if satoshi ever shows up and claims that he really does have those coins.

Yeah, he is enjoying the success of his invention and would be really happy to see the people supporting and using its invention for their benefits and earning good money out of it, he would be amazed by the support he is getting from the people across the globe.

I do hope he reads this thread then gives some 10 btc to each and everyone replying here. Just wishful thinking guys. He can do whatever he wants, just don't dump them in large volumes.

Why in the world are you interested in what someone does with his stash of coins, someone who hasn't been either identified nor has been heard from for years?

Im sure he has cashed out some money already from other addresses that nobody knows it's theirs, so he will leave those untouched I guess. And we will never know if when (if it ever does) move, that the one moving the coins of those addresses is really satoshi nakamoto or someone else, because it's impossible to know at this point, since his wallet could have been compromised.

We are even not sure if he is still alive or all that are his coins (keys could easy be lost in first days of Bitcoin due to testing and stuff like that). I bet Satoshi have lot of Bitcoins hidden here and there so he will not touch these famous addresses anytime soon even if he still control them.

he will just watch them but can't move, if he moved coins from his well known wallets then he will traced and get into trouble.thats why these coins aren't moved.

In the early days btc was not valuable at all. It wouldn't be incredible to see someone loosing access to thousands of bitcoins just by forgetting things ^^

i think satoshi will just hold it or destroy the private keys in order to avoid the problems with bitcoin, that would be the best idea

would be for Satoshi to start selling those coins. Most of the people who pre-mined Alt coins, turned out to be pump n dumps or scams. Those coins are

I personally think that Satoshi is organization, not individual (BTC it's to complex for one person) and I'm sure that each person in this organization have enough BTC in his/her wallet.

I think he is also waiting for next halving  ;D like us, so that even he can sell all his coins and be the richest man of the world, but I believe he won't be thinking of bitcoins at a moment, he might be doing research on some new crypto.

I really don't know, and that's a problem when it comes to Bitcoin and the fungibility issue with Bitcoin... Satoshi's BTC stash would garner way more value than the current price tag per bitcoin, because of the history and legacy that comes with that stash.  This is really an issue, because even though Satoshi the "person" or "entity" is anonymous in a way, his wallet isn't.  So if people start seeing that there is some type of movement of Bitcoin's out of his wallet, this creates some sort of unwanted panick... which is absolutely ludicrous.

If Bitcoin is to be regarded as the digital "cash" that it wants to be labeled, then there should be no trace back.  Now that's another topic of whether people really want an anonymous cash like this, but the fact of the matter is that people simply can't say that Bitcoin is internet "cash"... it's more like an internet open ledger where everyone and anyone can see who transacted X amount of money to someone else.  Just think about what kind of shit storm this would bring up if this were to be done with fiat today... absolute insanity.

This probably, in all reality, would never happen... the minute Satoshi takes bitcoin out of his wallet and puts it into an exchange, EVERYONE would know... especially on here.  People tend to be really on top of that for some reason.  But again, this poses a huge problem, and in my opinion, absolutely ridiculous. 

Everyone got into Bitcoin early on to be their "own bank".... Where they are financially secure and can do whatever they wanted with their Bitcoin stash.  Now, the fact that the creator of the currency we love so much can't so much as lay a single theoretical finger on his stash because it would plummet the price of bitcoin and cause a mass paranoia about whether Satoshi is selling out or not, is absolute insanity.

We are more than 7 billion people on Earth and I don't think $400 million will do much of a difference in establishing equality as the wealth is concentrated in 1% of the world population. Every multibillionaire must donate at least a billion to make this work :)

Sadly for him, he can't touch those coins, even if he wanted to, he might be still using bitcoins but the ones tagged to the name Satoshi's address will most probably stay there for ever.

I think everyone would dump their Bitcoins the second Satoshi takes Bitcoins out of his wallet, and I often wonder how low the price would crash. It would rapidly drop below $100 and the panic could maybe drive it down to $10 or $20. It would rise back up again afterwards, but I wonder how far and how fast.

I think for now (unless needed), it won't be used at all but in the future, could be used for further funding different BTCitcoin projects he have or to pay developers for further continuation of work or perhaps saving it for the right time to open his own big company that will hire thousand people to work for him (in case he comes out). At the end of the day, were just guessing unfortunately.

He could also distribute the coins at some point among all coin holders for being the first advocates of his invention or set up a Bitcoin fund where every citizen in the world can claim a bit of Satoshis.

I think satoshi will just leave the coins in peace just for display we will never know theres many things he could plan with that huge amount of bitcoins.

No, no amount of money will cure hunger problem in any place, not for long at least. Giving people the money is not the right way of solving problems.

I don't think he can enjoy all his bitcoin with being anonymous so its better for him now to get public because even he can't shut down the bitcoin network and he can enjoy spending and exchanging those large furtune he have.

and thats actually a good thing imo. if millions of bitcoins remain untouched. thats about 10% of the entire supply of bitcoins, and more people continue to lose their bitcoins everyday. so a lower supply means that the price will steadily go up.

Satoshi Nakamoto should definitely do charity with his coins, not just to help but also to spread the word Bitcoins to those who still don't know about it yet...

satoshi nakamoto will buy food and other goods wih bitcoin ;D i think he will use that bitcoin for develop bitcoin further,satoshi and team maybe have some plan to make bitcoin better than now.

all of those bitcoins that supposedly belong to satoshi will most probably stay as they are, not touched. if satoshi was planning on selling or using any of those coins, he/she/them would have done it a long time ago when the price was $1200.


this is a good idea. i think it would be best those coins could go to a legitimate charity organization. that would also bring a lot of publicity with good word of charity work for bitcoin.

I think he will spend some of his bitcoin and then most of the bitcoin will go to charity

He assumed a BTC to be worth a million, so I think he won't be selling it at any cost unless he sees that value...

Dead people don't touch coins. The signs are pretty clear, this scene is so active and so much has happened since his disappearance that he would have to be dead, to behave like he did.
