So you increased the price from $17 MHs to $44 a MHs? I think I'll pass and spend a 1/3 of that and setup my own rig. I can build a 144MHs rigs for roughly $1600 US, so why should I pay $4400 for only 100MHs?

I think 44/MH will not be sold unless the Ethereum price is $10 and the difficulty is the same as now. I will build the rig myself.

This would of been a good deal if you could rent it for a day or two. But I am pretty sure ETH mining a year from now won't be this profitable. Who knows what will happen next month or in 3 months.

Mining ETH is starting to become like mining Litecoin/Dogecoin, all the GPUs are getting sold out everywhere and pretty soon the difficulty will skyrocket.

The price is ridiculous.  Like someone has already mentioned it would make far more sense to just build your own mining rig.

You can sell the miner in parts for $1000 in a year. That 144MH will consume about 1500W or lower, the electricity cost will not be so high.

What people also tend to forget is that the mining will stop this summer for Ethereum, so this is obvious that this contract will never be profitable.

The PoW mining might not stop this summer. It depends on the development of the Ethereum programs. It might not be ready for summer.

There is always delay in the project development. So I think the PoS will happen later in the year, probably November.

Exactly, this may be common knowledge for people who were around for this type of thing with scrypt coins, but for people new to this you really need to look closely at the numbers. A couple of days ago when ETH was peaking you could punch in the numbers on a profitability calculator and it indicated you could ROI on a efficient card in a month. Now those same figures indicate it will take 2-3 months.

Now, not only has the price fallen, but also the number of new miners has increased and will not drop off proportionally. This Red Queen's Race always happens and you need to really sit down and figure out your profitability before going out and investing.

As some have stated, at least by investing in your own equipment, in the worse case you can at least sell your equipment off. By investing in cloud hashing, once you send in your money you are committed, if the price bottoms you will be lucky to get 40-50% of your money back.

People are buying graphics to mine Ethereum. The difficulty has risen a lot. If you build miner now, there is no ROI if the price is the same.
