Title: What sort of networking information is displayed while mining
Post by: KRec on June 08, 2011, 09:02:20 PM
I was just wondering if anyone knew what kind of network information was used when mining.
I'm mining on a Mac Pro (desktop not laptop) with the diablominer.app mac version.
When i have a miner running if someone is monitoring that network any idea what kind of information they will see. Will they see a constant connection and access with btcguild.com or will they just see an ip adress and a lot of back and forth connection. Will they see my account info? such as user name and password. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

A continuous TCP connection to your mining pool, on the port the mining pool uses.

The username and password will be sent in clear text unless your mining pool supports SSL on their port, and your mining software supports SSL.
