For starters, I don't do much online gambling, but I do promote most of the BTC casinos and play with bonuses for fun. I recently got a no deposit bonus and am playing around when I see another player making bets of 20 BTC at a time. This specific player has been making consecutive 20 BTC bets for awhile now. Obviously he wins some and he loses some, but most of them are losses. What I can't wrap my head around is why in the world would anyone with this much disposable BTC be gambling it away on a online casino. I understand people have gambling problems, bet wow, I can't even imagine having this much BTC to just gamble away. I can think of a thousand things I'd rather be doing with that money, one of them simply being saving it.

So my question for you guys is, do any of you gamble like this? Do any of you have these kinds of funds, and if so, why are you still gambling?

I personally never gamble like that, nor do I have the funds to do this. Obviously he is not losing more than he is winning, else he wouldn't keep doing this for so long. He is probably close to break even, losing mainly the house edge.

He may be an early adopter with a huge stash laying around not even realizing anymore how much his bets are worth. Could also be a rich guy with a huge bankroll. You see them in casinos as well, making huge bets without blinking twice.

I've seen similar players just gambling like 100 BTC per day on slots for example, trying to get the progressive jackpot on Bitcoinvideocasino.
One high stakes player once said in chat that he had won a progressive jackpot of over 1000 BTC somewhere and that he was gambling almost every day after that.
Pretty crazy to think he might have lost it by now, this was about a year ago btw.

I think I've gambled around 4 or 5 Bitcoin in total over the last 3 years.

I've gambled around 20 BTC on PD, I use it mainly to socialise and chat though. I don't gamble for a living.

I don't know exactly how much I've gambled but I can say one thing - TOO MUCH :D

I play poker and have gambled lots but luckily I've won more than I lost!  :P

Probably gambled around 1 - 2 bitcoin. I've won some but lost more I guess over the 18 months or so I've been gambling with bitcoin.

I play mostly for fun, so I haven't wagered much, maybe around 0.05 BTC.

Maybe 0.05 BTC but it did not came from me, it came from the free faucet of primedice and I wagered it and lost. It is so much fun when you bet the coins that you did not spent a single satoshi.

I too mostly gamble only for fun and some times only. I bet mostly on sports and my favourite game is cricket. So for I made over 2BTC from cricket betting. I will choose only certain matches to bet and never bet on all games so my winnings are more than loses.

But to answer your question, I probably lost less than 0.50 BTC, I only do it for fun.

If you know cricket teams strengths than some matches very easy to guess and make some good money but only some times results will change otherwise mostly we can win. As you said we should bet on all cricket matches instead need to chose some good and easy one to bet.

I made over 1BTC from sports betting and I don't play any other games in gambling.

I have at least gambled around 5 BTC in the last year. Was easier to lose when 1 BTC was 200 USD. Not so much now.

I don't remember exactly how much i have wagered, but i think it should be above 100 bitcoins. no crazy bets though all small bets. :)

in general how much you wagered is not important , you should only know how much you have won or lost

I also don't know how much exactly I bet in gambling but definitely not more than 5BTC and until now I'm in profit over 3BTC. I usually bet in some selective sports bets like most likely going win one even though odds are less and so for my winning % is more than lost one. 

I dont think nowadays there are still have some player to play like that much because 20 btc is not little. Assume that you are losing it all it this will not be good for your financial may be past few years ago using this kind of bet is playable for now I dont really find someone that dare to bet that high amount of money unless they are some investor or may be some big whale. I ever did 1 btc played never more than that

actually i was never gambling just like you said and a bit difficult to remember because i was never counted how much money did i spend in gambling but i had experience have lost 0.5 btc only in few bets

what? 20BTC on each bet that is risking $8200 that is one crazy player or he is loaded with money that does not care about losing that much. there is another possibility that those bets are fake, and the casino's bot is making them appear in the pool of other bets just to increase popularity and their stats.

anyways, like you i have been gambling mostly with free BTC and promotional giveaways but my investment is 0.01-0.05BTC at most i think.

Noone would know how much themselves gambled in total, even it's a small gambler.
Op actually questioning about a high rollers that spent thousand dollar which most of them losses and keep playing.
The thing make them come back to play are :
1. Chasing big winning
2. Recovering their lost

You must be new to bitcoin gambling because I have seen people throw away 100s of BTC at a time on Primedice and obviously these people have tonnes of money so they don't bother about losing them, its all about the rush of gambling and entertainment it brings to them. And the thing is Bitcoin gives them the opportunity to gamble anonymously, so they play as much as they want to.

As for me, I play as much as I can afford to lose.

i have gambled and lost almost 0.1BTC over a long period of time in different games. but i would never make a big bet as OP is saying no matter how much money (bitcoin) i have i would never bet 20BTC because i know by now that when i bet 1 satoshi and lose i can easily bet 20BTC and lose as easily.

In total maybe 3 BTC. And that is very bad. I am so stupid. I losed so much money and that is not so good.
But I realized it to late. And I think the most people realize it to late. But everyone knows that gambling is very bad.

yes i have a special fund for gambling, so I will continue to play gambling before it was completely finished.

I will say 20 btc is a lot for me, but for now I think but I am not sure I have lost 0.001 btc just a specification of what I have lost because I don't count how much I have earn or lose on gambling but I do it just to past time.

I have a limit on how many btc I will use to gamble/month, its around 0.1btc/month (amount that I can afford to lose) If I lose 0.1btc before one month so I will stop gambling maybe will only play from faucet or freeroll (poker) and if I win 0.1btc before a month so I will stop gambling as well.

That is quite much. I dont know how much I spend on it. But I dont spend so much on gambling.

Almost exactly 0.12 which I did just recently buying and selling a small amount of ETH.  Never do that again.

I spent about 3 bitcoins in gambling and lost them all, if you gamble you need a lot of luck to win.
And I mostly likely have no luck at all, I have the opposite of it always...

Yeah it is hard to say. I think I spilled 2 Bitcoins with gambling, and that is so bad. I give so much money out to gamble.

10BTC is quite lot of money and good that you already slowing down your gambling. Gambling should be good when we play only some times with little amount but we shouldn't try to make regular income from gambling. Luckily so for I'm in profits but I play once in awhile only.

You are mistake here, he is not wagering 10 btc but spend 10 btc on gambling, there is much different between wagering and spending. Although you have 0.1 you can wagered 10 btc for sure but spend 10 btc for gambling, it is really a lot

Why using 3x odds on dice? You can use 1.98x odds to get 50% chance win or lose stop it. And start playing small again for tomorrow. This will good enough rather than 3x odds, you need to be lucky to hit using 3x odds. If I were you I dont want to take this kind of risk. Play safe is better

from 2014 i was betting over 10 btc ( playing at planetofbets, directbet, jetwin, macaubet and ETC) and i happy with the win and lose. From betting i can get my vacation holiday every month

I have gambled with a bit of bitcoin, only something near the number of 0,8 btc its nothing compared with others.
I think its good because if you gamble with large numbers you will lose a lot for sure.

Dang, 20BTC a pop?  That's insane.  I can't imagine blowing that much money.  I've probably only bet half a bitcoin total in my life!  I'm cheap, and only play for fun.  I wish that guy would have sent his 20BTC to me, I would have happily sent him half of it back, which would have probably been a lesser loss for him. win-win

If its on gambling casino games, I don't gamble that much there, maybe around 0.1 BTC but I also gamble on ponzis, and it cost me more than 1 BTC.

yes 20 BTC could became 40 BTC when bitcoin increase what a poor guy indeed, I also would not let that much BTC slip in my wallet by means of gambling that is the reason why many user here are crying because of this they can't handle the situation of losing!

Now a days ponzi schemes are more danger than real gambling. Some of those new sites can't even survive fore couple of days and according to me 99% the money invested in ponzi are never come back. But in gambling if one is lucky or if your good in sports betting than you can make some money.

I gambled with a lot of bitcoins, something in the range of 11 bitcoins, I think it was not smart but I also was addicted.
I closes that book of my life and I came back from it, I have no debts or something anymore plus I also have a good amount of bitcoins right now.

Yeah, I would be crying too if I lost that much. That's over $8,000 right now. The only way to guarantee you don't lose that much, is to not bet that much. That's why I only play with pocket change. I guess you can't really win big though,  with pocket change, but at least I won't be crying after a loss.

Yup! That is a lot of money only spoiled in the dirt but I am not the who is crying because I am not gonna cry only by gambling because I know what I am doing and I am setting my safe zone on betting, and pocket change or other gambling activities is all base on luck so don't set a higher bet just a minimum amount will do.

I lost BTC0.4 in 4 days playing dice game.
It makes me sad when i see playing dice and winning.

Dice game is quite risky to play and win but it is very easy game to lose money very fast. Due to house edge, it will be very difficult for any one to win in this game so don't ever play this game with more money but just play some time for fun and if your lucky than you can make some decent profits.

Yup all kinds of gambling platform is base on luck and depends on your decision in playing gambling controling your bet and not wasting money that much can prevent you from such great loses

That is a positive thinking all gamblers must have it is ok to lose but you wilk need to control you every possible decision towards gambling because you will never know when back luck may occur.

It depends, its not a huge amount,  it depends on many things, but it wasnt a huge risk since i`m only down like -5% overall, so its no big deal.

it depends on whether you consider the reuse of the btc so that it will be counted twice in the prize food that u have previously almost clock double the amount of the same btc u use.

I made 6 BTC (5000$) from 0.003 BTC on pinballcoin.com.It took me 7 days to earn that amount.But then it was closed due to licensing issues so I started gambling on satoshidice and lost it all in one day.I wagered around 57 BTC in total.

I don't gambled so much, I always try to find such sites who have faucets and give free satoshi to start gambling. I think we need to be very careful when we playing in gambling. Do not loose your hard earned money on gambling just for being greedy.

i gamble very rarely, i think the all amount i have gambled is something like 0.01 bitcoin and i have lost everything

You are unlucky for sure but I would say you have a strong will power since you never gambled more on loosing 0.01 btc at first, if I had been in your place, I would go and bet more and more to cover up my loss, eventually digging the hole bigger.

It is not only just you, many gamblers (including me)are here usually keep on doing same kind of mistakes. So, far I have gambled for more than 200mBTC, no history of making profit. I'm still chasing my investment to recover by gambling.

I gambled 1.2btc and that is very stupid I think. That is a wast of money and that is not good. It is much better to save your money and keep or invest it.
You realize it too late that you losing so much money. So please watch out what you are doing and do some other things that you like to do.

I lost nothing to gambling, gambling is wrong and you never should do it, most people get in big problems by it and will lose everything they own in the real world.
With gambling you will always lose money at the long run.

Wrong tho, gambling its neither right or wrong, it just is. You can treat it as a game and have some fun and accept a loss if it happens, nothing wrong with that. You can also stop playing forever if you are on the positives. For example last time I gambled I won, I can decide now to never gamble ever again in my life. This would mean that I made money with gambling.

Honestly, it sounds like much but it isn't. Doesn't take a large investment to get there really. And for the profits part, I got prolly 5 BTC profit or so all around.

I don't have special wallet for my gambling purposes set up. So I don't manage my gambling spending that well. But I think that I am wagered far less that 1 BTC in total.
I would rather win low that lose hard.

I got the same strategy. I always play with low amounts. Never more then .2 BTC.
Therefore my losings are controlled and so are my winnings. The reason i do this is that i don't believe in gambling.

I gambled not that much btc. Only 0.5 and of course it is all wasted and that is not good. But I hope that more people will realize that gambling is very bad.
You always lose more money than you win money so that is not good. Please play with small amounts.

Yeah I am also not much of a gambler. Maybe 1 BTC in a period of 3 years. Mostly small bets with money from altcoins tradings.
My winnings are around .55 btc so just .45 lost.

I never gambled if I'm very honest, I only gambling in real life, I do not like gambling online because I have a feeling I will lose a lot and also due to the fact I think the rates are not fair so that is another reason for me to not do it.
I think its good to not do because I'm also fast addicted to something so its a good thing I never began doing it.

But You still gamble, well some say that sports betting are safest but I think that it is still gambling and you can still lose when the favor is not yours even if you are so sure that your side are winning there are still a chance that the table may turn.

Yup! a little bet is still playing gambling sports betting most of a time you have a sure guess who or what team is gonna win but it doesn't mean it will be a sure win because you will never really know who's gonna win until the game ends.

Gambled more than I have won, sometimes it is quite frustrating but that is the nature of the game I suppose!

Yup! because gambling is base on luck and If you lose you have lose and you need to accept it acceptance can be a great tool for you so you won't be addicted in gambling and don't try to recover what you have lost in it,

I am setting my safety zone on betting my money so I would not lose that much and sticking on the minimum amount on betting.

I gambled around 0.01 BTC few months ago when a gambling site was given this amount for free, did not do anymore after that though.

People who gamble like the guy you see OP do not deserve that much BTC to gamble, in the end they won't anyway as they will give it away. Saying that depending on the site it could have easily been the site owner bumping up the wagering and getting people talking.

I would never gamble any large amount, I do play poker and occasionally bet on sports but only with change and never with anything I would care about losing.

20 BTC is pretty big, I can't even imagine if I could hold that amount,

but anyway, as for OP's question, I haven't even deposited more than .01 BTC in a gambling house,if .01 got busted in just one round, I don't feel good, and feels that I waste it..

I not gambled a lot in my career with the bitcoin if I'm honest I do not like gambling at all but I sometimes gamble for the enjoying spare time I have.
I think I gambled with a 0,5 btc in my whole career I almost lose it all, if I'm honest.

I've gambled about BTC0.008 BTC. at the end of my gambling session, I ended up with a few microcoins more than what I started with. I played it smart and took a small win instead of being greedy and playing more. Needless to say, I think everyone on this forum who thinks Bitcoin gambling is a way to earn a living are stupid.

i am not sure about the total amount that i have gambled but it must be around 0.01BTC which i mostly have lost because 80% of my bets are losing bets.

I gamble not that much. I have wasted a little bit BTC. But not that much, just only 0.3 Bitcoin so I think that is okay.
But it is all wasted. And that is bad. People must realize that gambling is very bad it is just only for fun.

I'm also not gambling much because I think its just a waste of time, the fact is most people will lose more bitcoins than they will win and make profit.

I think its better to just do other things trading or something its less more risky and can also be pretty profitable if you ask me, I lost 0 btc in my career because of gambling.

you don't need to play to much when you gamble just bet a little amount and you can always proceed to other things let's just say campaign and like you said trading, I usually still using faucets from time to time!

In gambling, we can earn many more. But me with having not so much experience, only gambled about 2-3 BTC. But i like gambling. Gambling is very difficult and different. It is totally depended on your luck,and  i think my luck is not so good !  ;D

Then why do you depend on gambling if your luck isn't good? But hey maybe theres is a day that you could be lucky when you bet you will never know when your going to be lucky unless you try to gamble

I used to gamble a lot, but then I got cocky and lost 0.1 BTC on a really unlucky streak while I was martingaling. Now a days, I seldom gamble, unless it doesn't involve that much risk.

I think small amount for betting isn't so bad at all you can still get some BTC with it while not risking that much and a 100 btc lost is so much if a normal person loss that much he will stop gambling and think but in a case for an addicted person he will always keeps on playing because it is fun for him doing it.

I bet with very small amounts only so the total wagered amount of my gambling on different sites is no more than 3 BTC. That's because I like to play dice at win chances 1%, 0.1% and 0.01% making very small bets. The 0.01% is my favorite, if you hit the wanted number your bet will be multiplied 9900x. )

I also, at this time I have never bet with big bets, I always bet with small bets, it's because I never lost a substantial amount possible, now I've got about $ 120 in gambling

I think I am something like 500$ on profit from all my gambling.

Well that is a great opportunity to take when there are free or promotional stuffs in gambling it will add up to you BTC and it can add up to your gamble Bitcoin for sure!

I dont have much bitcoin to gamble, but I would want to try it sometime. They said that gambling will somehow double your money, but I believe so that there are some risk that I may take when doing it. Maybe I would for some small amount so that this wont hurt that much to my money..

Congrats if your profit from gambling is $120! That's great and pretty unusual. But I'm not sure, did you mean you've wagered $120 or you won $120?

4.2 btc that's a lot to lose, how many years have you been gambling(not particularly in btc)? looking at account you seems to be new to gambling and losing that amount in so much less time is bad.

After entering in bitcoin I am also addicted to Gambling now trying to settle this problem because I already lost more which I can afford because going down badly with this addiction hope in next few months I can completely drop this from my life

I just gambled 0.3 btc. And that is not that much. Because I know it is all wasted money and that is very bad.
I do it only for fun and with friends. That is very fun to do. But many people must know that it is all wasted money.

Overall around 1 BTC, played overtime and generally in relatively small amount..

I just bed 1.2 Btc total I think. And I know that is pretty much and I regret and that is very bad what I have done.
But now I realize that gambling is very bad and that I am going to stop it. So I am going to save some money. That will be better.

Only 2.4 BTC maybe more  :D and i can't say how much exactly i win and i lose :)
but if i stay away from gambling may i have much money than now.

It will be better for sure no doubts about that, 1,2 bitcoins is nothing if you compare it with others in my opinion.
I lost around 13 bitcoins because of gambling, but I also fully stopped with it, at least I really enjoyed it.

Must be around 10 BTC in total, didn't lose it all though, I mean 10 BTC wagered in total :)

I doubt you have done it all , people who lost huge amount of money usually not interested to something lower ( i mean earn money) than their previous lost.

and i,gambled around 0.47 btc, and won 0.6 btc so i am pretty happy, i can't understand how other gamblers can waste so much money on simple games like dice ones, they're luck based

I never gambled with use amounts because I always have bad luck and I know that so I do not bet a lot.
I also do not gamble often because I think its just fun for half an hour or something.

it of course. If you can stay away from gambling. I will make sure. you will have more in the bitcoin wallet. but it is quite difficult to get away.

I actually haven't tried to gamble and also thinking of not doing it for the post, stories of people who did engage themselves in gambling which big amount of lost would definitely change your mind to set yourselves into gambling. Besides, it is very hard for me to earn bitcoin reason out for me not to set on the games..but would want to try trading better..

As of now i never reach 20 btc i think all my lost still 0.5 or something except bonus receive in any gambling site..

What a pointless thread.  What does it mean to gamble a BTC?  Lose it?  Deposit it?  Grind it through the system multiple times?  I've won ~50 BTC in a single gambling event. (poker hand).. 

Most of the signature campaigns are for gambling websites. THere aren't maybe for any of the other categories and if they exist they don't pay out as much.

I think it is worth enough rather than dont get anything. Signature campaign of course is slow in earning but it is the safest thing ever to keep on getting your income. And I dont think you could just stop gambling just because you get a little bit from campaign, if you lucky enough I think you could earn some too using signature campaign payment so you can earn more than $13 weekly

I have wagered around 200btc between different accounts and different sites over the past few years. I always play small, I would never bet 1BTC at a time. It's fun to play slow and try out different methods. Overall I'm in the positives gambling. I'm sure if I lost a lot, I wouldn't think it's fun or encourage it.

50 BTC is very much mate. Most people lose only and that is very bad. I hope that more people will realize that.
But not everyone does and that is very bad. But you can of course gamble. But dont play that much that you will become poor.

Gambling is not a way to make people become rich, it is just using your money to enjoy something, and get fun with that. So no matter how much they have gambled, they always enjoy it.

Actually I never calculated how much I have gambled, but I guess its only around 5BTC

Did you lose one bit or not? but I think 5 bitcoin is more than enough to stake at gambling sites but if you had invested 2 to 3 bitcoins how many are your loses and wins?
