Title: Cryptsy down forever?
Post by: RBCastro on February 18, 2016, 11:54:12 AM
Anyone who knows the owners of Cryptsy can give us an update for what's going on with Cryptsy sell orders?

Not even in their blog or support give us some reason why that happened.

Yes, I saw that.

On the website it says:

"Important System Notification

Cryptsy Announcement: http://blog.cryptsy.com/ ALL trading and deposits are OFF. More wallets opened for withdrawal 2/01/2016"

Now is day 18 and nothing but a thought of a new scam scheme

Read the announcement, no more trading at Cryptsy:

Quote
Trades and withdrawals will be suspended on the site indefinately until some sort of resolution can be made.
Here are our options:

1.   We shut down the website and file bankruptcy, letting users file claims via the bankruptcy process and letting the court make the disbursements.

-   or –

2.   Somebody else comes in to purchase and run Cryptsy while also making good on requested withdrawals.

-   or –

3.   If somehow we are able to re-aquire the stolen funds, then we allow all withdrawal requests to process.

I’m obviously open to any other ideas people may have on this.

Is there another exchange like Cryptsy with that many altcoins?

I think you are in the same boat as the rest of us cryptsy customers.  We will never get it back.  I hope you didn't have a lot in their exchange.

Yeah i believe on that they made a story. And i think this is a common way to run their money.. Like the other site they said that they hack and got much bitcoin on their site.. But the truth is not.. they are just saying that to run..

I think Poloniex is good for altcoin trading. It has good volume for most coins. But it does not have many scam coins.

i hope they won't, i used Yobit and Bittrex and also poloniex for my daily trading activity, everything could happen all we have to do just watching our coin out there, when you see something going wrong then withdraw your coin imidiately, not only small exchanger even biger than that like mtgox have posibility to scam their member, i wish those exchange would exist for long time

i doubt if Cryptsy can come back at all. with the hit they sustained they are lucky if they can come back from it alone.

besides nobody is going to trust them even if they come back.

+1 to this.

Trust is everything in crypto. Since they have already lied to their customers once, who says they re not going to do it again.
So, Crytsy stays down.

The owner BigVern has fled to China according to his wife. So BigVern's Cryptsy will not come back in its current forms.

That's impossible they are just running and saying that they are scammed but the truth is they are ran our money..
And i think they are no plans to get back our money from their site..
Is just like the other site that always saying that their site was scam even its lie..
It's better to move on.. Don't expect anything in this crappy trading site..

There is also a class action lawsuit being filed against him and he is in the middle of a divorce.  The only way that website is coming back is if someone buys it out.

I guess OP is lost money on Cryptsy, and try to find more information about this situation. Unfortunately i think that is end of story, and Cryptsy is dead, no way for refund or re-start.
"Cryptsy" brand name now is dirtied, and not worth it again raise

They claim that there will be more coins available for withdrawal soon, I don't think that's the case. Say goodbye to your coins.

And yeah they're likely to be down forever :-\

Craptsy saga is finally over. I am sorry for anyone who lost coins there but happy all that finally ends. It is more than year since threads about their fall started to pop so most of ppl could avoid loses if they only were reading threads here before investing money.

Finally... Cryptsy is all over. Don't believe a shit now about what cryptsy says... Bye bye coins if you still have them in exchange :(

This 0.1 bitcoin worth of altcoin might worth a lot in a few years time. We need to get our money back.

Most altcoins on cryptsy are scamcoins. Don't expect anything from your holdings there.
But yes they belong to you, and thus they should be restored to you.

We should get it back but they are bankrupt.  We won't be getting it back.

Offcourse you should get it back. It's your money after all. But after the news i doubt all of us will be compensated.
I am very happy i got my coins out just in time.

I know a lot of us will have to wait and wait and eventually won't get it back.

If it does come back, I think will compensate the users from the operating profit, but it will take years.

And if those goes down as well, then that would be an utter chaos waiting to happen.

I heard cryptsy incident was due to some rogue employee, and if that promotes other exchanges employee`s motives that would suck.

That is my thought as well. BigVern and his colleagues should be put to justice and pay us back.
