Title: Asian Handicap in depth
Post by: BitcoinSupremo on February 20, 2016, 10:05:50 AM
Hi guys
I was reading on internet different guides and couldn't quite understand how that works. A in depth detailed explanation with examples would help me quite a lot.

Asian handicap in a nutshell is adding additional goals to underdog teams and subtracting goals from favorite teams. So for example if you have Arsenal -1 that means Arsenal have to win with a goal difference of 2 goals for your bet to win. In the case of Arsenal winning with only 1 goal that means your bet pushes and your stake will be returned. There is a really nice table here explaining what happens with the quarter-goals:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_handicap (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_handicap). The matter is too extensive to cover everything in 1 post you need to review the examples.

Thank you all, I only need AH -0.5 as will only play it.
Just giving my example here to make sure if I got it or not.

Example:
Team A plays vs Team B
I pick team A AH-0.5 so for me to win the bet, team A needs just only to win the game.

Is this right or not ?

Yes, that would be correct. I don't know why any site would offer +0.5 or -0.5 as it is pointless since it would make no difference to the actual score.
Maybe the odds would be the same as normal moneyline for those bets?

Betting on -0.5 is the same as betting for the team to win the match. However, you would like to bet on the the weaker team not to lose, you would have to select +0.5. Although it is the same as betting on the weaker team and draw, usually +0.5 offer high odds than betting the 2 results individually.
