Title: 'World peace' hitcher is murdered
Post by: Wilikon on February 22, 2016, 06:15:09 AM

An Italian woman artist who was hitch-hiking to the Middle East dressed as a bride to promote world peace has been found murdered in Turkey.

The naked body of Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, 33, known as Pippa Bacca, was found in bushes near the northern city of Gebze on Friday.

She had said she wanted to show that she could put her trust in the kindness of local people.

Turkish police say they have detained a man in connection with the killing.

Reports say the man led the police to the body.

Autopsy

Ms di Marineo was hitch-hiking from Milan to Israel and the Palestinian Territories with a fellow artist on their "Brides on Tour" project.

They had separated in Istanbul, planning to reunite in Beirut.

Ms di Marineo was last seen on 31 March in Gebze.

An Italian embassy official told the Associated Press news agency police tracked the man when he put a new SIM card into Ms di Marineo's mobile phone.

Local media identified the suspect only by the initials MK and said he had a previous conviction for theft.

Ms di Marineo's sister, who had gone to Turkey to look for her, identified the body. An autopsy is being conducted in Istanbul.

"Her travels were for an artistic performance and to give a message of peace and of trust, but not everyone deserves trust," another sister, Maria, told the Italian news agency, Ansa.

Had to click on this story to get a look at her, recall seeing a similar girl do the same thing but disguise herself as a boy.
Wanted to see if it was the same person, when I saw the story I thought good luck staying alive the next year.

As sad as this is,its pretty clear the value of women is different around the globe.

I am saddened by the death of this young lady. But still, I'd say that this was natural selection. The liberal Europeans think that the third world nations such as Turkey and India are safe for young women to travel alone. They ignore the travel warnings issued by the authorities back home. Hope fully, this incident will deter other European women from visiting countries such as Turkey.

I'm going to be honest and contrary here.  This woman's death affects me just the same as every other Italian death and every Turkish death, which is not at all and it doesn't matter to me in the least what the circumstance of her death was.  The people who feel heartbroken over stuff like this, well you're watching grief porn and that's exactly what the media sells.

There are members of my own fucking family who've died and I've not shed a tear.

This is ridiculous. Human need to try to understand the common feeling of one next to them. Even in third world countries people needs to be changed. Such incidents are becoming common now a days. Human were created just to enjoy every creations of god and not to destroy humanity as well human life.

It's the same everywhere.  Women need men to protect them and provide for them.

She didn't understand the feeling of murder from the one next to her.

If she understood other humans, she wouldn’t have gone to Turkey alone.

Humans are not good.

You cold heartless prick! ;D

The point you make is interesting because relating is one way humans seem to be able to step outside themselves.
Media does abuse this and parades a cute dog story after stories like this to keep us from being overloaded.

When I see the migrants coming across the waters a part of me hates that humans are suffering enough to make this venture but the other side wonders if it will change things for the worse. When I read this article I thought she was naive enough to think the world was
something she understood and could change.
When people are forced to make decisions they often shed the outlook of every one needs to be on a level playing field.
Once we break through to those people we can make a change, but nothing till then.

This is sad.  It's also a sign that there are a lot of bad people out there.  There are very few places in the world that are truly safe if you are alone.

Frankly, I disagree, if she's been to tons of other places unharmed, what this shows is there are a lot of bad people in Turkey, it does not reflect well on that particular country if such a harmless person was murdered, I'm really not surprised she was murdered in the middle east of all places, she probably would have had nothing happen to her in China or Russia because it wasn't really a political statement or anything that would have pissed them off, but the middle east? Nope.

Yeah I fucking said it, I'm tired of hearing about people getting killed in the middle east over stupid shit and people in the middle east coming over here to fuck with us.

Lol.

I work in a helping profession and I'll admit I'm probably burned out,  but I do feel strongly that the media does just what you said and I hate it.  It's why I don't watch tv anymore.

I don't have any professional experience, but I'm a cynical bastard who has seen some particularly unpleasant aspects of humanity even when they're supposedly peaceful, so I can actually understand where The Pharmacist is coming from, it's like they think I can't see them when they act the way they do and then the fuckers turn around and act innocent about everything. As for the hitcher, I do have sympathy, but it's one of those things where she must have known the risks of going to a place like Turkey, they always know, so it's their own damn fault. One of my friends at school died in a car crash but I knew what the guy got up to and he knew as well so I'm not going to go around sobbing and losing my shit over it.

It's sad for sure, but again, these people know what they're getting into, it's the equivalent of people who die at crossings because they try to get over them before the train comes, they know the risks yet they consciously choose to ignore it.

It's the same everywhere.  Women need men to protect them and provide for them.

If you say this in Scandinavian nations such as Sweden or Norway, then you'll be fired from your job, a criminal case for sexism will be initiated against you, and your best friends and relatives will make you an outcast.  ;D

Jokes apart, women don't need men to protect them. Instead, they can purchase this toy, and learn how to use it:

True, women are free to purchase that from men, and learn how to use it from men, after men invented it, manufactured it, and drove the trucks to deliver it.

But 99% of women will not purchase that, and most of the ones who do will buy it with men's money.

But other than that, they don't need men at all.
