Title: Bitcoin isnt opening - is my wallet corrupt? [GOT IT FIXED!!] Post by: yesterday on January 20, 2013, 02:40:00 AM I get this error when I try to open bitcoin:
https://i.imgur.com/dbHi7Vo.png I am using Win 7 64bit with an encrypted wallet and Bitcoin v0.6.2-beta. To fix it, I tried running bitcoin after moving all files (except wallet.dat) out of the Bitcoin AppData directory. It didnt work. Then I tried installing bitcoin on a second computer, redownloading the entire blockchain on that computer, and then copying my "wallet.dat" file to the Bitcoin AppData directory. This didnt work either. I got this error (https://i.imgur.com/ErOG6JC.png). Lastly I tried running bitcoin with "-detachdb", but that also didnt work. Is there anything else I can do? Post by: DannyHamilton on January 20, 2013, 03:07:44 AM Assuming you don't have multiple backups, or an older backup that you can try, you might want to look into pywallet.

Please report after you've run bitcoin with the -salvagewallet command-line parameter. If that fails, you may try pywallet, but that might require a little more expertise. Remember to include the password you used for encrypting, or change it if you can and provide me with this.
I'll fix what looks like a database error in your wallet.dat file and send it back to you clean. Or if that doesn't work I'll parse out the private keys and send the coins to a new bitcoin address you generate with a new wallet.dat file. No payment needed for this service.
