What strategy you use to trade bitcoin?

I'm not currently trading anymore, but when I used to trade I tried to set the daily range the price usually staid in (for the exchanges in my countries volatility is not so violent) and, by setting a risk management strategy, in other words, a safety margin for the operations, I would then trade as soon as the price variation reached my pre-established desired level of profit margin for the trade.

Buy low, Sell high. That's the only thing that works.
I usually trade everytime there is a $15 difference or more.

I never trade Bticoin against dollar or any other currency because that implies you need to give all kind of details in the exchange and im not down to deal with that bullshit, so I just edge against other crypto currencies, recently I did a trade with ETH and made extra BTC, now I also bought some MAID which is looking spectacular.

i buy as more btc as possibile in a range that i consider "low" and then wait, most is on the long run, but if the price goes up significantly i sell , after that wait and restart

i dont use strategy, buy low and sell high was not strategy, its normal from oldchool and past time, everybody know about th most easy way to take profit, its just depending how much your funds. and how much your profit in the end of trade.

I use other payment methods to buy bitcoins and sell them for a higher price. I don't usually buy low and sell high as sometimes bitcoin prices drop a lot and the strategy doesn't work. I rather keep converting it into fiat and trade as that is more beneficial. I make use of Perfect Money, OKPay and Payza to buy/sell bitcoins and then withdraw the profit via PayPal which then sends it to my bank.

I accumulate altcoin faucet and trade them into btc when the price is high, then exchange it back into the altcoin when the said coin's price is considerably low and trade it back to btc when the price increases. Its a slow progress, but its better than nothing, I guess

Trading is probably the worst thing to do, though the transaction fees for cryptocurrency are pretty low.  The thing is, volatility is off the chain with all of them and you need balls of steel-reinforced concrete.  And I do not possess such testiclats myself.

Definitely trading should not be a good idea for you if you can't keep up with the market.Anyhow I use hops strategy.Let the coins hop through a few exchanges until it reaches a right one at the right time with the right price ,sell them.

You gotta use an efficient stop loss system in order to be safe from sudden downfalls. There are some automated bots that will trade for you.

Trading, though, is only worth the trouble for significant amounts of invested capital. And the risk is, of course, much bigger than just hold.

When i think price is low, I will buy, then price is 100 above my price, I will sell half. If price goes fiend, I will tell myself I am in it for the long long term, like  5 years. When the price is lower, then I will buy more, repeat the above process.
So far, I don't buy any more since I don't have much money and I am in it for the long term.

I trade with a minimum of a $20 difference, and then wait for it to drop with $20 and buy in again, when it is lower. This way you absorb some of the fees, and it is still profitable. I do not keep all my bitcoins on the exchanges too, it is to risky and I cannot afford to lose a single one.

I've told about that strategy before, but I've never done it. Haha, seriously. I need money to buy my necessities, so I don't have time to wait. that's why I have another strategy. I trade on btc-e then I sell it to local traders, I will get profit but not too much. at least it works  ;D

The basic principle in trading is BUY LOW / SELL HIGH but that is not always the case. Sometimes when  it continues to dive,we are force to SELL so as to minimize the losses or just wait as the price become stabilize and wait again for it to rise.

I learned another strategy from another forumer her that when the price go down, at buy at least a third or more but not all btc because it might lower further just always save a standby btc on your wallet and monitor the movement. ;)

That is to easy.
I think i trade with my feelings. If i think the price is too high i make sure to sell my coins or spend them on produ cts.
If theprice is in decline i make sure to buy coins. Currently that price is around 350 dollar.

the usually trading strategy is to close your position with every small % of gain you cna get, and not waiting for a massive profit

this plus lavarage can actually bring you more profit in the short term

there is no rocket science behind this since every one buys bitcoin on low price and expects to sell on higher good rate according to their profit margins and i did it myself as well and sold several times my bitcoins on good price and still expecting this year for good price rise so i can sell rest of the accounts.

I only buy when the price is dumped to the ground. While a lot people panic sell fearing the price to go lower I buy up their coins with a smile on my face. I always keep buying till the bottom. Other than that I also do day trading if the volume and price swings are large enough to profitable trade during the day.

Yes, I am very much convienent with this type of simple strategies for trading bitcoins is to sell at a higher rate after holding for longer periods. But for this you have to speculate the market and forecast the rise/ decline of price of bitcoins.

I usually trade everytime there is a $15 difference or more.
It is risky to trade when there is just a $15 difference as I used to do the same earlier and keep a $20 target. With the result, I lost a lot as when bitcoin price rises one day, it continues for just a day or two and then drops which makes me go in a loss. I keep a $30-$40 gap and when it's low or reaches this amount, I trade as then it earns me enough profit.

I think at the current moment is to buy as much as you can and then wait till July and August at Halving when the prices will rise to the new heights. This is a simple and more profitable strategy for now.

How exactly this passive PayPal trading works exactly? Are you trading p2p or via some platform?
Isn't PayPal for bitcoin transaction frowned upon in the community because of the amount of scams, reverted transactions and general insecurity of these deals?

I don't understand what he means with  "passive Paypal trading" too. I think as you know, anything that involves Bitcoin and Paypal is a terribly bad idea because of the fact Bitcoin cannot be returned in the case something goes wrong. This has been exploit by many on ebay, a lot of people got scammed on there and they couldn't do nothing about it since ebay/Paypal doesn't care about what you do with your Bitcoin, so all you can do is leave negative trust on the seller, but he will just create new accounts so..

don't get me wrong, it is still risky to trust them and leave your money/bictoin in their website but it is not like all of them are going to become like Gox, Bter, Cryptcy,... there are still some good exchangers out there.

Today not is the right time to buy bitcoins because it reaches $462 base on xapo. There is only 1 strategy when it comes to trading.
Buy when the price is low, and then hold for a while and monitor if the prices could give you income and if that happens, sell.

I use the MattTheCat Reverse Indicator as a guide:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1319356.0

Just do the exact opposite of what forum member MattTheCat does* when trading and you are guaranteed profit.

The MatTheCat reverse indicator is a tried and true system dating back to the Mayans and Aztecs.

Here is a recent/current thread which is a perfect example of the MattTheCatt Reverse Indicator in action:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1442399.0

* keyword is "does". As in when he actually takes a position. Occasionally, he will make a prediction and not take a position and then that prediction comes true. This can be used as an affirmative indicator. Example of this can also be seen in the thread mentioned just above.

Yes most of us are using this kind of method because it is very easy and you don't have to be skilled when going into trading like this.
Just follow all the instructions properly and you will become a certain professional trader once you already know the flow of bitcoins and other alt coins in terms of trading.

Buying bitcoin when prices are cheap and sell when the price is higher than the price of buying time.
Do not try to sell bitcoin when prices are down or lower than the price of buying time because it will hurt you.

Same, i think a lot of people will answer the same here cause this strategy is really popular everywhere,  but need to understand that price is unstable and you can make a big fail someday.

Yes most of us are using this kind of method because it is very easy and you don't have to be skilled when going into trading like this.
Just follow all the instructions properly and you will become a certain professional trader once you already know the flow of bitcoins and other alt coins in terms of trading.

Well, that is why the skill and knowledge of the trade must be controlled, minimally know how to do it all.
Everything will be experts when they are trying to learn to understand it.
They have the ability and expertise vary according to the character and style.

What strategy you use to trade bitcoin?

i think that many people use same simple strategy, main rule is to buy currency while it's cheap, and sell them after price rise, this is very simple and can bring you profit

but i use different strategy, i buy when currency when it is cheap and  i sell them when currency price is 15% more expensive than i bought, this way i usually always get profit

I never trade any Bitcoins the only strategy I use and I am sure that more people make use of this strategy, I use my money to invest in to Bitcoin and buy some coins. Then I just wait for the price to rise to sell my coins so I can make a profit.

Before you are going to start you have to know that you must make some profit with it and the most important is that you need also have strategy so you will know what you want.
Otherwise you are doing things that you dont even know why you that are doing but dont lose money.

I would also like to understand trading. The sell rate at all exchanges is always low than buy rate. For example if Sell rate is $400,buy rate would be $410 or more. How can I earn profit then?If I sell at current rate?I wont be able to buy again because buy rate is higher

I put 50% as luck. Another 50% from people speculation. If horoscope says I am lucky and there is speculation that the price will go up. I buy.

So far so good.

There are very, very few people that would want to wait 5 years just holding their Bitcoin. To my knowledge, a lot of hodlers are planning on doing some trading every halving or so, and view it as a very definitive and concrete investment rather than something to trade every day or two.

I wouldn't wait 5 years, personally, but I'd check every 6 months or so to see how it's doing.

Not sure why this thread is being bumped up. Anyway, my strategy is to sell Bitcoin at high price. Wait for the price to drop, and buy back my Bitcoin and a few bonus. :).

Yes. Unlike many others. I am trading to increase my Bitcoin count and not USD count. I am mostly using OKCoin platform to trade. Simply because their anonymity is much higher than others - just a valid phone number will do. I have never cashed out my Bitcoin (fiat) to my bank account before. And I wish I never will. :).

(I lose mostly using my strategy. :().

Yes,it is not trading, if you hold your amount and wait the right time, i mean when price is increasing than you sell it. so it don't mean you have doing trading, i also hear mostly people are saying that they have investment, mean they are just saving their amount. so i can't understand its that mean trading or investment?

trade altcoin would be faster in profit due to price movements faster altcoin fluctuation compared with bitcoin. so it would be better if you apply the strategy of buy low and sell high was in altcoin. that strategy very often beneficial

I don`t use any specific strategy when I trade. I do it mostly for fun, from time to time I earn some amount and that makes me happy.
In last few months price of btc is very stabile, even price for me as amateur trader is to high so my attention more on much cheaper altcoins.
Good informing before some buying is very important, I use bitcoin talk for that. There is few people I like to follow about it.

All in all trading with btc require huge bankroll and patience.  Its interesting for me to have fun from time to time.

The best thing that you have to do with trading is that you have to know that you must make some profit with it and that is the also the most important thing in Bitcoin.

I think that strategy is not effective. You will lose your money more than gain profits. It's better if you choose some altcoin that has a good potential than worthless coins. Find the necessary information about those altcoins.
But anyway If I'm wrong, then how much profit did you get with that strategy until now?

Just buy bitcoin or alt coin at the price that you think is very low and you can afford. Just like what I'm doing, I'm just storing my bitcoins to my wallet and just wait for a price increase.

I mean if you study and make smart decision it will always result for a good profits. So for me it's up to a person on how he prepared on doing something.

High and low is always subjective, and it is basically whatever you think will be high or low within the Bitcoin economy. A low value of Bitcoin is relatively obvious, while a high value of Bitcoin is any point where Bitcoin is valued at more than what you bought it for, and what you're willing to sell it at. There is no definitive number for any of this, and a lot of it is very subjective.

Well Im agree with his first statement about if that person is a newbie, then it should stay away from doing altcoin trading "for now".

But if that newbie really wants to go to an altcoin trading, he should spend time on researching and doing lots of readings before engaging in the actual altcoin trading to gain experience from doing it. Experience will now be the one that will make him improved.

It's not simple because to buy low you should analyze the market very long and then decided when to buy, also selling high is not easy as you think because not always you can make profit when buying bitcoins, imagine those who bought at ~$1k, how much time dose it take for them to sell again in 1k without profit.

Yes absolutely right, trading of alt coin is the best idea. Other than your strategy, I follow trading across exchanges like buying in one exchange and selling it in another.

We need to compare prices of different exchanges for this. We do get very rare chances, but very effective and instant profits.

As far as the strategy goes, I buy on really small amounts every month for myself regardless of the price. I choose not to go on that heavy on it, since I don't have the capital yet to buy 'big'.

I'd probably go buy a big amount once the price drops down, It's probably the best choice to just stay still and buy/resell at little amount and grind up from there, but once the price drops, I'll buy a lot for sure.

my strategy about bitcoin is very simple. I do buying bitcoin when the rate falls down. as you can see in the present time that the rate of bicoin has fall down to 580 USD. I think that was the best time to buy bitcoin because halving is approaching I am sure that the rate will increase in next some days.

It's called taking advantage every price dip depends on the price trend.

Sometimes putting a target price whether to sell at this point or buy at this rate wrecks people's trading strategy in most of the cases.

The only time that there are any good pumps are during the initial exchange date of a new crypto, and basically watching the market every second for about 12 hours, and sell when it's at about 3/4 of the value it is going to peak at. This is all very risky, especially considering that there might not be a lot of investors interested in buying the altcoin, and thus it isn't as fluid as Bitcoin and could result in you losing a fair amount of your money.

Just go by the basics: Buying low, selling high. Though I know it sounds quite easy and attractive, but it actually takes a lot of effort and time to do it, grinding the market is not that easy unless you don't have a good built up capital.

However if you keep it up for a long period of time, the invested time will definitely bring profits and repay you. Though I'd advice to get a job and get easy cash, like 2k euros, then start from there.

Altcoins are good and not all altcoins lose in the long run. They may not be as good as bitcoins but it's definitely better than gambling. We have seen ETH and LTC losing but check the Waves currency that's the best altcoin currently. The best thing about altcoins is that it's easy to trade them and they are very cheap compared to BTC.

I use quite of a similar strategy like you do, I think everyone does use it the same around here though... But if really I actually like to wait till the halving starts, and not resell just yet.

However being patient is not one of my strong points, I usually just act on impulse and sell it all without any thinking on what can actually happen in the long run, because the price is sooo attractive.

No, no don't focus on altcoin and if you are a newbie then you should stay away. From my experience I can tell you it is worse than gambling. Focus purely on bitcoin.
Bitcoin market is big enough to see a patterns, and and it can't be manipulated by 1 whale like it is happening all the time with low market cap altcoins.
I don't think that altcoin trading is worse than gambling if you just study first before doing some altcoin trading. Because the possible scenario that will happen is on our hands. I mean if you study and make smart decision it will always result for a good profits. So for me it's up to a person on how he prepared on doing something.
Altcoins don't have a future. I myself was an altcoin trader and it was so tough to get back what I had invested in altcoins and I lost 50% of my investment. It may not be worse than gambling but gambling also gives you a chance to double your earnings but once altcoin's price falls, it never rises.

well all the trading is based on the price and on all the numbers in my opinion so its always very important to have bigger prices when you trade your bitcoin in order to make more money i think

i never use any strategies when trading to be honest, the only thing i do is try to buy at very low prices and sell at the bigger ones in my opinion, i have no other plans when trading

I buy low and sell high. Sometimes, hedge my funds by buying more when the markets go against my trades.

This is what also I'm doing on trading bitcoin. Buying low and selling it on high price. And if you bought a lot of bitcoins and with just a simple fluctuate of price.
You earn great with by dominating volume against the value.

I convert bitcoin into altcoins and currently I'm trading pulse and waves.
BTC price is too high and hence I'm able to buy a lot of altcoins and selling them is even more profitable than bitcoin trading. I use C-CEX which has been the best trading website.

buy my strategy about bitcoin is very simple. i do buying when i realized that now it is the time do buy it. and when the price come down to a reasonable price to buy it, then i do wait for the price increase and when the price reach a little high then i send it. then wait again for the next down fall and when i realized again that now the time is to buy it i do buy bitcoin again, presently i am waiting for halving therefore i have hold my bitcoin.

Well I buy the altcoins where I see high volatility for fast trade. When I do long trade, I research that particular coin and buy if I was satisfied with it's roadmap. I hold it and set a goal price to sell to.

When the market is volatile i follow the markets more. Instead of a daily checking, i check it every few hours. Especially for altcoins this can be very profitable since you can see a mnior/medior dump. Buying at that moment and waiting for a fast minor increase with 10/15 bitcoins. Can earn easily earn you upto a a few 100 dollars a day.

But,  make sure you find a good moment to sell out.. the say day.

50% Hold and 50% Sell, that's the strategy I use for trading. But if I think that the price would more likely to rise, then I'll change to 75% Hold & 25% Sell.

Not recommended to try trading with a low amount, because you will only lose for a fee, better to collect all of your bitcoin until reach the biggest amount. and then you can start with that's amount for the trading more big amount you will get a more profitable from there. and always pray before you want to start it.

Why not ? A beginner must always start with a low amount to learn the basics. If saving on the transaction fees is part of your trade, you're greedy.I have some bad news for ya,stay out of the culture.Greater risks are involved when you literally put everything you have. No,prayers don't work.

each people have each way to trade, some people choose altcoin trade, bitcoin fiat trade, margin trade, binnary trade (gambling).
my strategy is buy low sell high, but if you can sell at high, you can sell at low (cutlose) then buy back at lowest price

I don't like trading bitcoin, you should have big amounts in order to see a significant profit. I prefer investing in altcoins, although it is riskier it is also possible to have bigger profit with a few btc invested.

What strategy you use to trade bitcoin?

Hi, I've been using bitcoins for almost a year now and it is hard to earn a lot of money by using bitcoins. You need to invest if you want to earn big and I've thought of using my hard earned money to invest in bitcoin trading. Since I dont have enough knowledge in trading, I've made a research regarding the strategies that can be used and here's what I have found out,
Bitcoin Trading How-to Guide and Strategies

Bitcoin’s history of bubbles and volatility has perhaps done more to bring in new users and investors than any other aspect of the crpytocurrency. Each bitcoin bubble creates hype that puts Bitcoin’s name in the news. The media attention causes more to become interested, and the price rises until the hype fades.

bitcoin trading

Each time Bitcoin’s price rises, new investors and speculators want their share of profits. Because Bitcoin is global and easy to send anywhere, trading bitcoin is simple.

Compared to other financial instruments, Bitcoin trading has very little barrier to entry. If you already own bitcoins, you can start trading almost instantly. In many cases, verification isn’t even required in order to trade.

If you are interested in trading Bitcoin then there are many online trading companies offering this product usually as a contract for difference or CFD.

Avatrade offers 20 to 1 leverage and good trading conditions on its Bitcoin CFD trading program.
Why Trade Bitcoin?

Before we show you how to trade Bitcoin, it’s important to understand why Bitcoin trading is both exciting and unique.

Bitcoin Is Global- Bitcoin isn’t fiat currency, meaning its price isn’t directly related to the economy or policies of any single country. Throughout its history, Bitcoin’s price has reacted to a wide range of events, from China’s devaluation of the Yuan to Greek capital controls.

Bitcoin Trades 24/7-Unlike stock markets, there are no official Bitcoin exchanges. Instead, there are hundreds of exchanges around the world that operate 24/7. Because there is no official Bitcoin exchange, there is also no official Bitcoin price. This can create arbitrage opportunities, but most of the time exchanges stay within the same general price range.

Bitcoin is Volatile-Bitcoin is known for its rapid and frequent price movements. Looking at this daily chart from the CoinDesk BPI, it’s easy to spot multiple days with swings of 5% or more

Thanks to the author of this. It helps me a lot. I hope it can also help you.

The "buy low, sell high" strategy is the only strategy. Everyone knows it already.
So I will share to you my principle instead:

I don't aim for a high profit. Even if the rise of price is just low, I take the opportunity to sell already.
Unless, you are sure that the price will continue to rise. That's it.

Yes, beginners who are not being familiar with bitcoins, should not take high risk with high investment. Its better to start with low amount and later when you know better about it you can invest more amount. However I do not think people will be in loss with investment of buying bitcoin.

Yup, all the techniques on a trader is as you say. It is a technique that was certainly used and there will be no engineering in addition in the trader, because trading is concerned about trading (cost-benefit). It's been the law for trading
