Title: Are you getting many Satoshi 0.12.0 nodes in your peer list?
Post by: Jet Cash on February 25, 2016, 11:27:41 AM
I'm still only seeing a couple, or 3 at the most (out of 8 ). The good news is that there is only one Classic that appears regularly.
0.12.0 seems to be a bit faster, so I think it's worth upgrading if you haven't already.

You can easily check node statistics here: https://coin.dance/nodes

And here: http://nodecounter.com/

Also: https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/

It seems faster to me as well, especially since I frequently turn the client off for a day or three when I'm not using the currency. Catching up seems to be a lot faster - both its reading of the blockchain and its fetching of new blocks. I'm guessing is the real difference with fetching new blocks is it processes them faster.

At least it was faster yesterday, when it had 26 hours to catch up and today, when it had six hours to catch up.

Bitcoin Core v0.12.0 has been only officially released two days ago. It takes time before the majority upgrades; you can verify that this process take a while yourself using Bitnodes  (https://bitnodes.21.co/nodes/)(as linked above). When I was syncing, I was getting data only from a single 0.12.0 node.

I guess 694 updated nodes isn't too bad then. :)

Nope, my windows node is sometimes raided by 50+ SPV clients though.

Anyway, currently these are the peers my server is connected to.

Code:
