You're never going to get an unbiased opinion on this forum on this question. Everyone has their favorite coin, and there are a lot of pumpers and dumpers here. They will tell you lies upon lies in order to pump their coins.  you'll see. If you're familiar with the two coins you mentioned, you can probably make a profit trading those.

Why buy when you can get a free coin I am talking about Valorbit and they are now on a 1 premine give away if you sign up on their main site you can get up to 50,000 valorbit coins you can download the desktop wallet and transfer your coins there.who knows this could be the next dogecoin..

I remember dogecoin was quite cheap at the start because nobody got it would take off with the general population, seemed just another silly coin.  There was probably a way to tell but it wasnt obvious to me.
The coin I think is simple to use and fast, stable enough to hold is blackcoin which is being developed for a while now by a pretty dedicated set of people.   Thats also another clue, hard to say with new coins but regular work to improve a coin helps alot for it to succeed long term

I would pick Gridcoin (GRC), as it is one of the more interesting coins out there.

Gridcoin (GRC) replaces mining with doing research for scientific projects, for example to cure Ebola (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/oet1/overview.do), fold proteins (https://boinc.bakerlab.org/) or find aliens (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/).

From a user's point of view, he simply has to run simulations from the different projects using the BOINC software (http://boinc.berkeley.edu/). Then the network comes to a consensus, who has contributed how much computing power to BOINC, which can bee seen for example here (http://www.gridresearchcorp.com/gridcoin/?result&t=CPID_Leaderboard). In some blocks this consenus is saved in the blockchain and the reward one gets when staking a block is proportional to how much research was recently done for BOINC by this researcher.

I also has very active development, here is the main forum: https://cryptocointalk.com/forum/464-gridcoin-grc/
More information and tutorial to set it up here: www.gridcoin.us

Not for sure, but there were some interesting signals:

WARP, or Warpcoin, is going to release a v1.1 soon with integrated VPN client. I think you can make more than a few percent if you buy WARP and hold.

This is hard to say. I invested into Ethereum recently and have made 12% so far even the price declined since two days. I would suggest to invest in coins with an good uptrend or good tech. Some POS coins are interesting, too.

Why don't you hold your Bitcoins? The price is increasing and it is possible to make 2-5% every month only by holding your Bitcoin in your wallet.

In a world full of scams, I recommend you invest in VNL. It is a serious cryptocurrencie, the single currency that Poloniex accepts the transaction with only ONE confirmation and that the transfer occurs instantly.

I really like Gridcoin, the reward mechanism is fair and the community is pretty cool :)

Ethereum could be the best coin to invest in. It is collaborating with Microsoft in certain projects. So the price rises.

I'm with monero. its less risky to go invest with the coins that are on top 10 in the exchange sites. The only question is when you are going to go short and profit. keep an eye to the market.

"altcoin to invest in" ....   that's harder than you think, holding a bag.
personal recommendation is that you should go with the flavors of the day, aka "trading", with short hold time.

2 of today's flavs are Decred and Warp.

good luck!

Check out this list of blockchain based apps:

Look for a good entry point, there is a lot of volatility in Ether, don't buy at the top.

Factom - data store - low price - just signed new contracts in China
Bitcoin - store of wealth - high price - halvening in a few months.

Yes ok but i'm not sure what can we expect from Monero?
Am i missing some good announcement or update?
It is clear this is great coin but it's price is stable i think there is no much potential for earning money with it.

Believe me or not , if currently you want to invest in any coin , then it would be MRAI . All the people are trying to buy them at ~350 sats in the unofficial MRAI trading thread , I am very sure if MRAI hits any exchange , the price will be around ~500 sats, so if you really want to make money trading altcoins,  go buy MRAI coins right away.

Monero or LISK maybe the best choice for today's investment. Hold it till the next pump will come up then sell it all and looking for another good altcoins that have a lot of attentions. Frankly, I will never hold altcoins for very long time. I got fucked once with clam coins, I bought it at 550k satoshi for each clam and when the price was up I still hold that coin and suddently the price went down very deep and never go back to initial price.

I will say do not try to invest in any other currency right now as all of the currencies without bitcoin is going down with each passing day, and I think it will continue like that till the halving occur, and so after that we have to think to invest in any other currency.

This place seems to be unbiased! ;D Anyway, my personal favorite is LISK and ETH due to its cool projects and the seemingly limitless possibilities you can work with the coin. I am also looking at DASH and WAVES (though I'm not sure at the latter.)

Ethereum will be good to invest but not now as the price will drop more to down now you have to invest in bitcoin, and after some months when the halving benefit is achieved we should have to join ethereum .

I guess CBX is a good option. Low inflation, low number of coins (less than a million), proof-of-stake, with future projects that will allow the coin to be bought using CC etc.
