We have an agile team of some of the best designers and engineers who are constantly working together on improving Lunarbets.eu. We have a couple of ideas that we're planning to roll out in the immediate future like a VIP lounge, opt-in gamifications, et. al. I really liked the design :) I played in plenty of other bitcoin sportbooks and this is one of the best designed. please consider adding live sports later on.

To be transparent with you, our withdrawals require approval for security. We have a dedicated team that reviews daily withdrawals and sends them out as soon as you create an order. However, depending on the network congestion in the blockchain, confirming the transaction might take a while. We deduct 0.0001 BTC from a withdrawal order and use that as miner's fee for the transaction. The latter is something that is out of our control and we don't think it's pleasurable for the customer if we increase the miner's fee.

Parimutuel betting ? 

A lot of your customers will be surprised when they realize these:

"The disadvantages of parimutuel betting for the bettor are that you do not get fixed odds at the time you place a bet; this is because further bets made after your bet will change the balance of the pool which changes your payout if you win."

"Be aware that the final odds you get paid out on may not be the same as those displayed at the time you bet because in parimutuel betting the winners are paid out with the losers money proportionate to their bets and the size of the pool. The final pool and all the bets can not be known until betting is closed so at that time Lunarbets displays the final odds. "

Parimutuel vs Fixed Odds

I think the best way to explain the parimutuel betting system is to compare it to fixed odds betting system that most people are familiar with.

With fixed odds betting the oddsmaker sets the odds for a particular outcome and if this outcome occurs you are paid out based on the odds you bet at, regardless of what every other individual betting on the event wagered on.  With fixed odds betting you are wagering against the sportsbook at the odds given.

In contrast parimutuel betting basically involves betting against other gamblers who are betting on the same event.  It’s easiest to think of parimutuel betting as betting into a pool where the payout is determined by the total number of other bets on that same outcome.  So if you bet on a horse named ‘Joe’ to win and half the money in the betting pool was bet on ‘Joe’ then your payout would be 2/1.  The potential payout for each outcome changes as more bets are placed, so the odds that you see when you place your bet, may not be the same odds that you are paid out at if more bets are placed after your wager.

Example:

Philadelphia - Golden State  (Match Winner)    

Pool:   1 BTC  on 1st team   +   1 BTC  on 2nd team

Calculated fixed odds:   1.95 - 1.95

1.95 is good for Golden State
but  1.95 for Philadelpia ???


Is my calculation correct?

and you never know what will be the odds because the pool can get a big stake at any time (1 sec before the market closed)

Assuming that both sides have 1 BTC in them, the multipliers (not odds) would be 1.95 - 1.95.

What that means is that if you bet 1 BTC on one side and win, you get 1 BTC (your initial bet) plus 1 BTC (your share of the losing pool) minus the 2.5% house fee making it a net payout of 1.95 BTC. We agree that the explanation could be simplified. We appreciate your feedback :)

Love the look of your site guys, visually it's superb. I haven't had chance to bet with you yet, I'm a bit of a creature of habit with my sports betting site choices. I will keep my eye on this site though. Hope to see you guys do well.

So if you do not explain your site to your customers (better) then i,  or anybody who knows what Parimutuel betting is,  can mislead/manipulate all newcomers/noobs (who thinks this is a fixed odds site) with "invalid" odds ( put stakes into the pool that will generate such odds that will attract the newcomers, but they do not know that those odds will change by the manipulator before the match begins)

The site is a good one. Nice GUI right there.

I have one request for you. Can you allow us to place bets without signing up?
This will help to achieve the true purpose of using bitcoin: "Anonymity"

Also try to introduce E-sport games like CS:GO which will earn more visibility.

All valid points. I agree there needs to be a more obvious way of knowing what parimutuel betting is. Perhaps adding a beginner's guide button somewhere in the site to briefly explain how the site works.


Thanks for your compliment and suggestions :) Initially our team designed the prototype last year to cater for anonymous bets but eventually changed it to an account system. The reason being is that since we're dealing with people's money, it's important for us to have a way to reach our customers and the common way to do that is by email

I forgot to mention in my introductory post but by having an account with us, you can enable 2FA with Google Authenticator to protect your account.

But don't worry, though. I think there might be certain UX implementations that our team can come up within the next couple of weeks. It just needs to be done according to the principles we hold. The implementation should be easy-to-use, sustainable, and most importantly secure.

Also I noticed that unlike other sportsbook there are logos of each teams and it's really cool that you guys implemented that. I do hope that you guys could put the league where each of those matces are playing. I can only see tha in te basketball tab there is the list of team without the leagues. :D

That's true indeed. Live bets would be a great feature on Lunarbets or even live scores. This is something that our operations team is currently devising. We'll see what they come up with in the next couple of weeks. As for promotions for new players, we do have something in the pipeline. I think last 5 posters still did not realize that this site is not a traditional sportbook

They will be surprised when they got  only  1.1 * stake winning instead of 1.9 * stake winning ( while odds were 1.9 at the time of bet placement but it become 1.1 at the end.)


I placed 28000 bets in the last 7 years and never heard about parimutuel betting so i suppose these recreational bettors/posters do not know or do not understand what type of betting this is too

I have to say this is new to me but if what you say is right then it can be a problem, I think most bettors would prefer to be paid with exactly the same odds as they were at the time of placement of the bet. And those who do not pay attention to this prior to betting will come to the forum and cry that they were duped. So OP better add about this in detail on the site and in the first post in bold letters.

Please explain more clear like:

Example: Pool 0.2BTC, current multiplier 1.951 - 1.951

If I bet 0.1 pool will become 0.3 total and 0.2 vs 0.1

What happens on win and lose?

For example on win I will get the 1/2 of the 0.1 pool (e.g. equivalent of 1.5 odd)?
And on lose? 0.1 will get full 1/2 (e.g. 2.0 odd)?
But this could be changed any moment by new bets? So I cannot know what odd I'm getting on by bets till beginning of the event?? And isn't the smaller pool in +ev by this?

Just visited the site but I cant find the biggest event of the year "Champions League" and Europe League as well. Am I missing something here?

And if it is true that the betting type is like what sbrzol said, so I think it will get less attention than other sportsbook.

How does your betting work?
Lunarbets uses a fixed-odds betting system where odds and your potential winnings are already pre-determined by the time you place your bet.

I would also like to know the answer to these questions before I put any bets on your site.
I have tried other sites but was going to give yours a try until these issues have risen.

Odds on NBA basketball is 1.716 - 1.716 for 2 lines handicap ( UTAH - LA Lakers).
For soccer money line odds are unreal  :o :o :o 2.58/1.8/1.35 for France league 1 match (Guingamp - PSG).
These are the worst odds i ever seen in my live (i am sports bettor from more than 15 years).  

I love this sportsbook. Great odds, instant transactions and a friendly customer service.

I do not bet soccer, so i can't rate the odds there. My experiences with odds on baseball & tennis matches are great, the odds are even better than pinnacles!

Since you can see how many withdrawals were made (by withdrawal ID/ numbers), I am a bit surprised that it seems like they have not that much customers which they would really deserve.

What is your stake size?   

150-250 mbtc, haven't had any rejection or bets voided.

1st time when i checked the site i see normal odds, but now i can see the same odd as you  (1.758  - 1.809 )

(Perhaps 1st time it shows good odds but later based on your ip or cookies it shows only shit)

Same here, payout of odds has decreased dramatically...

Support said that they're experiencing technical difficulties and the tech team should fix it asap.

So you are not able to select it and copy paste to your bitcoin wallet address field

- there is a qr code  , but if you use online (webbased) bitcoin wallet (blocktrail, greenaddress , etc) on your PC then it wont help beacuse you can only scan the qr code with you PC camera (megalol)
(but online bitcoin wallets for example blocktrail has no qr code scanning option, it is for mostly mobile apps)
- there is an "open bitcoin client" button  ,  but it cant open your online bitcoin wallet only attached bitcoin wallet applications


So you can only deposit  (on PC, personal computer)
- if you type in your bitcoin address letter by letter    ???
- if you use your camera to read the qr code  and your wallet app has qr code scanning option
- if you install a bitcoin wallet app

Bugs :

- if you place yor bet on under/over then there is no event name ,team names  in the betting histroy , so you cant indentify your bets
- if you search an event and open it then the entire page became disabled you can  reenable it only if you refresh the page

lunarbets voided 2 of them without any notice

Last void some hours ago.

My last bet status was pending,  while my balance was set back to the pervious amount and after the match finished the bet status was set to nothing/ empty

Finished status means : your bet was lost
Empty status means:  your bet was voided without any notice

My 2nd bet was on Portland,  odds were 1st time between  2.00-3.00 , but i thought it was an error, but later it become  4.728 so I placed a bet on it .  But lunarbet voided it without any notice.

DO NOT KEEP TO MANY BTC ON THIS SITE , they will void your bets at any time

(my stake size is only 0.05-0.12 BTC)

Just visited that sportsbook odds are very poor compare with famous sport books, in soccer section you are offering basic option fro betting only for playing teams money line and the draw, you have any plan to add more betting like under/over goals, handicap, half time/full time and many other.

another way is to save qrcode and use zbarimg from "zbar-tools" ,linux

I've checked out your site and while fixed odds are nice, the odds are pretty low compared to other sites. Maybe consider having 2 versions (fixed and floating). OneHash doesn't use fixed odds and has decent volume, and I doubt you will be able to steal a large amount of customers from other sports books. GUI looks great though.
