Are you implying he has some sort of influence over developers? Are you Classic shill or something? Quote Adam Back President Blockstream I'm very aware of that. But still, he's not part of Core dev team, and apparently he was attending as 'individual'*, even if he was authorised to act on behalf of Blockstream, does that mean that Blockstream officially has influence over the Core devs? * 'President Blockstream' at first, later changed to 'individual' later changed back to 'President Blockstream' Title: Re: Hardfork possibly before July 2017 Post by: GermanGiant on March 01, 2016, 05:15:33 PM i guess 95% would be ready within 3 months. But, there is no definition about the widespread agreement between users, miners, exchanges and ecosystem companies. So, one party can always claim that the widespread agreement has not been achieved.Title: Re: Hardfork possibly before July 2017 Post by: LiteCoinGuy on March 01, 2016, 07:12:01 PM i guess 95% would be ready within 3 months. So influence might be not the right word. Conflict of interest maybe. Even though core devs are free individuals, we depend on them. If they would work on the bitcoin protocol in favour of their own project then it's in their best interest. Of course I could be wrong with that. It's pretty hard to proof informations and you would have to investigate which costs alot of time mostly. And I'm tired of doing that a bit. Are you implying he has some sort of influence over developers? Are you Classic shill or something? are you implying that bitcoin is no longer decentralised and that all coding has to be allowed by core dev's? short story: one point of failure=one point of failure. we need to stop kissing core-dev's asses and praying to them like gods and realise that bitcoin should be open to anyone. stop arguing that people like gavin are different. if ANYONE comes up with a BIP. core fanboys should not deem it it as a threat, but something they too should consider including in core. EG putting the 2mb hard fork code CAN and should be put into aprils release.. after all the grace period wont elapse until all other roadmap stuff is active. so there is no reason to delay it for a july16->july17 timeframe start by getting the code in early and then let the community, miners and exchanges choose.. stop praying that core plan is the only plan they have no reason to wait for july 2016 to put in the code. and no reason for a 12 month grace period after that. april code release and a 6-9 month grace period seems better. because people wont need to upgrade in april and again in july. instead they just upgrade in april and have the 2mb active by christmas, long after segwit is active after all if core thinks its ok to release a version in november, february, march, april and july.. (5 versions in 9 months) then 1 version is acceptable in 9 months too |
