Or it runs a different algorithm scrypt or what? It depends on each of the algorithms and block nature. If the block is larger, it will need more ram. (probably 16GB GPU drives will satisfy this). Litecion ASICs can only mine the Scrypt algorithm but Ethereum uses DAG (Dagger-Hashimoto) algo. Currently you can only mine Ethereum with video cards. There seem to be some compaines that are making etherium ASICs, but for their own use. It is a good thing to only be mineable on a a GPU I think (IT keeps the difficulty down and the distribution high). Title: Re: Can you mine ETH with BTC mining gear?
