Title: Buy now or be sorry!
Post by: smiles on March 01, 2016, 11:08:53 PM
The price of Bitcoin goes up over time.  The current situation is placing severe downward force on the price of bitcoin yet the price is not decreasing.  What we have here is effectively a giant spring storing energy against that pressure.  Once the attack stops and the mempool clears, that energy will be released and the price takeoff like a rocket TO THE MOON!

BUY BUY BUY

Unfortunately, people have heard this story too many times in the last 2 years.
Once bitten, twice shy.  :)

Yup. It is good time to buy in my opinion and i am buying as much as i can. Price can go one way or another in short terms but i believe in tech and community so long term (year+) is quite sure profit IMO. Block size debate and "cyber war" related to it will end sooner or later and i feel that could launch Bitcoin to new ATH no sweat.

Personally I'm going to hold off a bit and watch what happens with the block size debate after the presumed spam attack yesterday, I am more interested in see what the opinions are of the developers and see what their plans are to maintain the integrity of the network.

yeah those who can spare definitely you can purchase coins so that you can profit in the long term. there are certain things holding the price , but realistically how much it can rise ???

I mean if people think Bitcoin is the gold standard, then people will still obviously invest in Bitcoin. But what keeps the network alive, soon there will be a point where mining the coin will be absolutely pointless and it will just be the people who hold who get to distribute it.

Do you even understand how Bitcoin works? Mining will always be a necessity since transactions will not confirm without a miner.

I rather be sorry lol.

Too much halving hype going on, I`m sure it`ll increase but not by much.

I wouldnt want to assume its going up and make up that risk all based on a halving scenario, just my view.

yes price is rising right now, and in 2016 july, halving will happen, that should rise price by 150$, so we should buy many bitcoins as we can because later price will be very high

BUY BUY BUY

exactly.
the history (the recent history) has shown that market wants to push bitcoin price up no matter what happens, it keeps on going up.

the block size debate, the Hearn drama, all the FUD, and a lot more has happened but price only went down a little for short while and the continued its upward movement.

People will always wait with buying no matter what you advice them. They hope to buy at very low price level but they will regret that once they see the price go up. Regret comes always later. ;)

Sometimes the waiting time just does not worth, I have seen here many people that are waiting to buy at $100 but i think that is not gonna happen this year at least.

I think the price could still down below $430, but $430 price is also suitable to buy.before halving occurs, at least the price could touch $500

Its not the best price to buy it. And that is not good. The value is not that low and not that high.
I think it is better to hold it and that is very bad. I hope that more people will get some profit later in the future.

I dont think so so many thread like this to buy buy what if before just in time of halving the price goes down then what will you do, so many bitcoin users are waiting for halving so that the price can go rocket up and so they can sell, but no one thinks that when every one will be selling who will be the buyer, even the miners wont buy . in my knowledge we will be seeing the seeling pressure after halving

I don't sure if I really need to buy for now.
this kind of hype isn't really helpful to bitcoin trend, you know. unless you can sure bitcoin price is gonna go up to $500 within this week, then I don't recommend on this. :P

Because in two months it will be even more. Yes, of course you should have bought two months ago. You should have bought in 2010. But it is still easily good time to buy some as the price will be much higher.

i'm not buyign, i prefer to generate directly... but i'm going long on 1broker i believe the 450 mark will be broken soon

so going long for 450-500 should be in theory a good move right now, unless another major drama suddenly happen and tank the price...

Yes you should buy bitcoins now because the price is good and it would be stupid to not buy them because the halving is also coming.

If you do not buy them now you will have regret from it in the future I'm pretty sure about that.

Yeah...but incase you didn't realise, you actually need people to buy right now when Bitcoin is at $430, and then again at $500, and especially at $650, which I expect will be a big sell off target (if BTC even gets there) for many long term holders of Bitcoin. So you should be hopping up n down   yelling, "yeah, buy BTC now b4 it's too late"

$500, $400, or hell, even $200 for a worthless piece of fucking code? Y'all must be having a laugh if any of you think any price for that is good value. The only thing that gives Bitcoin 'value' at any price, is the expectation that a bigger bunch of fools will be queuing up somewhere down the line to buy your BTC off you for double/treble what you paid for them to begin with.

Because so many are expecting BTC to go parabolic around the time of the halving, I suspect that this is one good reason why the market may dissappoint. If everyone is anticipating a huge rise, and everyone is buying in now before they miss out, who is going to be left to buy bucketloads of $600 Bitcoin from those who loaded up at $300?

That is true, but if u bought at 200$ u have a 400$ profit instead of 200$ when u buy it now.
If the price get that high, I wonder ifpeople are that stupid to buy at the highest price.

I think its good to buy, but I do not see it happen that people are gonna buy bitcoins on such high prices, I think that is highly unlikely if you ask me.
Its of course matter of time but its also the fact that the point is that the bitcoin is getting to a high amount soon or later.

So if you buy bitcoins for a higher price you will still make profit at the end of the halving in my opinion.

As far as I can predict, we should start buying coins as much as possible at this stable price.

This is a story that I've heard before (2-3 yrs ago) that still gives me gives me thrills to this day.

And it is a story that I heard a couple of years back as well, when Bitcoin was still trading over $1000:

Looking weak? It just had a record day on almost every exchange and is still greater than $1000. Plus it could be argued that it's in the process of putting in a solid double bottom.

Don't think you will ever get coins for ~700 again, sorry to burst your bubble duder.

!!!SMACK DOWN!!!

I have now entered at top of market and done quite well, although am losing now and selling at lower prices than I paid to limit damage.

Oh man I considered you to be smarter than that. You just never sell bitcoin cheaper than you bought it, because every dip is a temporary retrace. Your panic mode for bitcoin should mean "stop buying" and then when you think it stopped falling you start buying again. Any other way - and you are just robbing yourself. Can't stop you, of course, but sad to see.

May I just say, thank fk I know better than to listens to nutters like you!

Yes sir, I will keep my money and am looking forward to owning much more btc than I had, at yet lower prices.

It's your money and your way to lose them :) We'll talk again once you buy at 1300.

....and we all know how  things progressed from that point onwards. Fact is, people on here talk authoritatively as though they actually had half a clue what they were on about, but in reality are simply letting their avarice driven fantasies dribble out of their arse. Despite 'calling the crash', I never knew much about markets back then but now that I do, I can see how glaringly obvious it was that Bitcoin was wildly overcooked, how huge bearish divergence had set in, and how ridiculously dangerous a long trade it was. That fact that these guys I quoted, all of whom were holding large amounts of BTC, weren't even able to read the most obvious of obvious of basic technical danger signs, quite frankly speaks volumes of the dumb fucks that are (or were) invested in Bitcoin. I would gladly take 'buy now or be sorry' advice on this forum about as gladly as I would take a hole being drilled in my head......

....oh and for the record, there is absolutely nothing about Bitcoin market at the moment that screams 'buy now or be sorry'. If anything, quite the opposite. What Bitcoin is telling me is more "out of steam, almost certain to test bottom of range trendline, wait and see if that wants to bullishly resolve or not"

Certainly isn't a bad idea to buy now, with the halving approaching the price is close to guaranteed to rise. Bitcoin is a pretty damn good investment at the moment. The only potential negative that could affect anything is the block size debate which rumbles on & on unfortunately.

Personally i'm hedging at the moment because nobody knows for sure.
My current theory is that the recent price increase was people pricing in the reward cut that is happening in June. Therefore i don't expect a huge price rise this summer.

Long term i would still hold. Bitcoin adoptation is still growing, which should drive the price up a bit.

Short term i see a lot of sell pressure competing with some firm buy pressure from people still believing in a price increase. I can't tell which is stronger but the trend has been slightly downwards. If that breaks stop-losses we could see a short term dump. The current mempool problem (full blocks) could be the catalyst for a sell-off.

^^ Yep.

Absolutely everyone is taking a long position in Bitcoin cos of the 'halving', which could explain why the price has doubled from it's 2015 mean over the past few months....so who is left to take Bitcoin up further purely on grounds of 'the halving'?

It would not surprise me at all, if analysts are refering to the 'Bitcoin Halving' as a classic Buy the Rumour, Sell the News event 6-7 months down the line, in a Smart Alec tone, as though they knew it all along.

With that said, if a bitcoin halving event doesn't provide the fuel for a good old manufactured pump, then I don't know what will....so erm, yeah...I am on the fence for whether it will, or whether it won't pump and will take my ques from market structure.

What happens if the big miners can't agree on a solution before the Bitcoin network finally grinds to a halt and people are claiming BTC transactions to have gone missing only for them to turn up on Blockchain a few days down the line?

Panic?

Big Sell Off?

But that is all ok, cos if the worst comes to the worst, you only invested money that you are totally prepared to lose, right?

i have been investing as much money as i could invest in bitcoin for the last months every day.

i am doing it exactly because of what has been happening in bitcoin and the halving effect.

Have you really?

Doesn't any of this worry you?

http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/03/01/transaction-fees-increase-bitcoin-blocks-get-full/

What happens if the big miners can't agree on a solution before the Bitcoin network finally grinds to a halt and people are claiming BTC transactions to have gone missing only for them to turn up on Blockchain a few days down the line?

Panic?

Big Sell Off?

End of Bitcoin Experiment, Back to Drawing Board?

But that is all ok, cos if the worst comes to the worst, you only invested money that you are totally prepared to lose, right?

Yes you are right, but some people are gold searchers, they are investing there whole bank account and savings and hope the price will got to a high amount.
These people will most likely make profit because the halving that is coming but its still stupid they did it because the bitcoin is unpredictable.

....oh and for the record, there is absolutely nothing about Bitcoin market at the moment that screams 'buy now or be sorry'. If anything, quite the opposite. What Bitcoin is telling me is more "out of steam, almost certain to test bottom of range trendline, wait and see if that wants to bullishly resolve or not"

yeah testing the bottom you're wrong about, we are testing the 400 bottom now not the 350 anymore or sub 400

the heading is clearly toward 500, it will be only a matter of time before the new bottom will be 450

It's not only a matter of price guys: waters are very rough and I do think we are in the most uncertain time of btc trading history

People were saying the price would reach 500 by the end of February. It's march now, and right now it's at $428. I don't think Bitcoin is going back down under $400.

The price is going up because bitcoin is deflationary and fiat is always hyper-inflationary. It is always a good time to buy, if you have fiat. You're better off storing your wealth in BTC than in fiat, that is for sure.

buying before halving is a good investment
because the next halving will drive the bitcoin price to the moon

Yeah, its always better to save your fiat into bitcoins, as the price would be higher in future where you can multiply your wealth by selling your bitcoins at a right time.

it is not always good to save fiat in bitcoin.
don't get me wrong, i think bitcoin is an awesome investment but it is a very risky one too. so investment in bitcoin should be done wisely with an amount which you feel safe with.

But how long is long term? You could be waiting decades or generations before Bitcoin adoption becomes standard.

yes, because  in july we will have a block halving, which should rise price by $100 atleast, so if we will buy now, later we will have more money, and poeple that forgot to buy now, will feel bad later

i never talked about a time frame of march, i've only said that we are heading there it can happen from here to the end of this year but it will happen

The big bitcoin question buy now or cry later. In my case is to earn now and not spend it on gambling. Seems like we have to wait another month or two for it to come and I can't wait to see that high price. I gamble with my coins, a bit investing here and there so I don't plan to wait halving, I plan to win some big tournament before halving.

Yeah, if you are good at it then you should go for it without any hesitation, if you win big at a moment you can hold more coins at the time of halving, so you can earn more profits if you hold more coins in your wallet.

yeah those who can spare definitely you can purchase coins so that you can profit in the long term. there are certain things holding the price , but realistically how much it can rise ???

To the fucking mars.... And not only can it, likely it will...
Check back in a year and see if you can still get $4xx coins....
I severely doubt it....

BUY BUY BUY

Price rises each day and thats awesome news, i  also don't think that it will drop by alot

But best thing is to know that halving will happen in july, that will rise price a lot, so now it's best moment to buy

The price rises each day? If that was really the case, then we would have seen the price smash through the $500 price level already. The price is simply maintaining its position above $400 currently. That's not exactly a daily rising price. This year's high is above $450 which means that as long as we remain below that price level, that there is no real increase.

Some people that i know are saving money to collect as much as possible bitcoin, halving is near and the price can be pumped at anytime and yeah you are right, buy now before it's late.

of course it is awesome time to buy not matte if price is pumped right now better don't risk and don't wait for any small price fall and buy now, for larger price but you will be safe if price will rise before halving and really happy after halving

well spending bitcoins on gambling is very very dumb idea, you won't win anything

and don't try o trade them, buy and sell, just buy some and keep them for halving, trust me, after halving, price of bitcoin will rise to top, so that will be awesome for every bitcoin user that bought bitcoins now

thats highly possible but it is also highly possible that the price will drop to very small numbers what would mean a big loss

i hope that the price will go to the sky pretty soon as it would make me a lot of money but i dont put in too much hopes to it

The current moment seem to be a good moment to start investing in bitcoin.
The outlook is quite great, since so many big markets are having difficulties.

In a way there is no better way for a newcomer to step in and buy more bitcoins.
