what is cryptonight? any simple tutorial on how to mine this algo?

It's an algorithm just like any other. You can use CPU and GPU to mine.
I believe ccminer and CPUMiner support it.

Currently there is no pool on release, but I will be in the process of setting my own up. I will also try and contact pool hosts such as suprnova. If anyone can get in contact with them I'd appreciate it.

It's not yet setup and I need to make sure everything works properly. It might take up to a few days, and I don't want to delay the release.

Solo mining will be ok at first, a block is found every 237 seconds.

The initial block reward is 10,000. The wallet is forked (sorry), but I will be working on redesigning it and adding additional features.

Same here. The dev did not realise that free resources have limits in how much data can be downloaded. There will be one or two people that got the files before the limit was reached and are now instamining.

Dev this is a failed launch. Get a paid file host that can handle the load and re-launch. You can use something like Mega that is popular.

Actually I managed to access it, there was no windows files in there, linux gives ( illegal core dump)

I do have a paid host, and something went wrong with Pydio CMS, the file sharer I planned to use. I'm talking to my host support right now, but github release is up.

Now I can't get Virustotal to scan the exes, it keeps failing. I have no idea why.

I'm trying my best to sort out all the problems! I'm sorry for the poor launch, I didn't expect all these issues.
No, I wasn't mining the coin while the website was down.

I'm talking with my host's support right now to try and get the website working. A seed note went down as well for some reason, I've restarted it and it seems to be fine.
I will post virus scans for all the downloads as soon as I can.

is there any dat file that i have to save like wallet.dat on usual wallet?, or is it only the wallet n pas that i have to remember for my wallet?

The easiest way would be to download the CLI version and type "start_mining "number of cores" in the simplewallet. Type "stop_mining" to stop.

When you chose a name for your wallet, it is saved as "name.wallet". You can open it later.

Does it use GPU?

Cryptonight can be mined on CPUs and GPUs. Mining on CPUs is generally more energy efficient. The native miner is CPU, but there's a CCMiner fork that supports CryptoNight GPU.

But i have GTX 970 so i thought if i knew how  to mine on it easily solo, i could but my miner running on it, and btw my wallet is not syncing so do i need to add any extra nodes?

Is show_hr your own hashrate or the network? Cant remember its been a while.

"getmininginfo"  in rpc should do it ;) your hashes will be listed right above the "networkhashespersec" ;)

so when i want to run my wallet on different pc, all i have to do is put the "name.wallet" in the same folder with simplewallet.exe?

First run was sandboxed. But not subsequent attempts

Run the CLI version if you want to mine! It's working besides a seed note going down every once in a while. Can someone help run additional seed nodes? We really need that at the moment...

run the neptuniumd first, then it says when you can open the wallet, problem solved :)

I see your nodes are closing connection at every block found,wrong decimals,CLI needs dll files and platform directory

Because I am a nice guy :)

1) open neptuniumd and let it sync
2) open simplewallet.exe and setup wallet
3) get address by typing address in simplewallet
4) in neptuniumd window type start_mining <addressfromsimplewallet> 7

Notes:
1) choose 1 core less than your max.
2) leave both windows open and open the daemon first and simplewallet second.
3) remember to allow the daemon access through your firewall.

As I know,cryptonight coins does not change block reward.
they start from initial and only decrease imo

Here is a suggestion:

When you relaunch, premine the rewards that would have been at this block height and let the people with current 0.00000001 blocks swap those for the correct rewards.

Extract the wallet, run Neptiniumd, when it says that you can open simple wallet open it, make a wallet and write start_mining numberofcorestouse here, its that easy :) Like start_mining 3 example, depends how many cores do you have

The swap sounds too complicated for a few coins. Relaunch with a new chain and everyone starts again.

I am sure he can handle the complexity and make up for the initial ****up. If the rewards were working properly, it would have been more than just a few coins.

There was a GUI wallet in the launch but it didn´t work for some users.
For mining (in windows) you had to download "neptiumcli", launch "Neptiumd.exe", let it sync then run "simplewallet.exe"
create a wallet and tipe "start_mining [numbe of thread]", so if you want to mine with 2 cores it should be like this

start_mining 2

Also you can mine from "Neptiumd.exe" it should be "start_mining [address] [number of thread]", for 2 cores it shoul be like this

start_mining xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2

at least that is what i was doing, if i´m wrong please correct me.
By the way i don´t know if this is going to change on the relaunch.

I'm hoping to get a testnet up today or tommorow (same specs of real coin, but used for testing, no value). Actual release should be in around 3 days. I'm making some changes to the block reward formula and specifications of the coin.

I figured out the block reward bug and that will definitely be fixed.

There will be a GUI wallet. Built in miner will be included in the CLI release.

You can use a version of CCMiner or CPUMiner I linked in the thread, but it might take some configuring and testing.

So you will have a testnet up just for yourself or for the public as well? The public will then have the opportunity to optimise the GPU miners which will effectively exclude the CPU miners at the time of re-launch. Is this correct?
