Title: Transaction stuck, please help!
Post by: zmhaha on March 03, 2016, 06:49:10 AM
So I have sent 0.04 to a betting site last night;

https://blockchain.info/address/12xSw3oPDAYj3LRYinxXJa5hnwpfZwv9nC

In the meantime I won and now I can't withdraw because my initial deposit still hasn't been confirmed. I need money pretty urgently.

What's happening with a Bitcoin network? Are fees going up in order to send? I have sent with 0.0001 fee and it's still not enough!
Never before have I had a problem with a 0.0001 fee, it was always enough.

Can I do something to speed up confirmation? I am using Electrum wallet.

Thanks!

Hello, sorry I'm afraid u can't do anything with the bitcoin network to confirm it early.Just wait for it to confirm. Also u can broadcast it every 30 mins to the network using : https://blockr.io/tx/push

Eventually, it will get confirmed, right?

There is no way it will stay stuck forever like this?

Thanks!

Based on the transaction fees, some zero paid transactions may struck forever. In your case you paid 10k Satoshi fees.
10k Satoshi is a very good enough transaction fees to get quicker confirmations. So, very sooner you will get your transactions confirmed.

I must say that I am quite dissapointed where Bitcoin is headed with all of these block size limit problems and raising fees, etc.. Hope that we solve all these issues in the near future!

the problem in your transaction is having low miners fee, you only sent it with 10k satoshi fee but 20k is needed for it to be high priority coz the transaction size is 1257bytes. you will only need to wait for a miner to include your transaction in a block but because of what currently is happening it may take long time, me myself is still waiting for the same issue 3days ago

I know that's the problem mate and I have sent even higher transaction sizes with the same or even lower fees in the past. The problem is that fees are raising. And with the ongoing block size battle, I see them raising even more in the future!

I'd say don't push the transaction. Let it drop from the network(happens randomly from 1 day to a week on average) and inform the support of the betting site about the problems ASAP.

Before sending the bitcoin, keep in mind to check the estimated fees for the tx to get confirmed in the next blocks cointape.com

I experience like yours before that the transaction 1 to 4 hrs still not confirm if you still didn't receive until 8 hrs maybe tomorrow you will receive it..
As my experience before 3 days ago before i received bitcoin to my wallet..
its because of low fee thats why transaction is slow..

Yeah, nothing to worry about. Your transaction will eventually confirm or come back to the sender (you). Up until yesterday I had one incoming transaction unconfirmed since Sunday. Now it disappeared so I believe it was dropped and returned to the sender.

wow I have to say that electrum wallet never recommend 0.0001 BTC fee at all. For 8 outputs, I have to say that you should have put at least 0.00025 for the fee to make sure that it will confirm fast. All you can do is wait for it to be confirmed

It'll probably be dropped from the mempool and you will have to resend. I know, the struggles with the transactions right now. We're backlogged to the moon with antpool and friends mining empty blocks.

main concept for bitcoin conformation is that if you pay higjer fees for transaction it will conform in just for second and if you pay lowest amount as fees it will take more time or more than it to confirm your transaction.
now you say that you paid .0001btc for transaction,i accept that its enough for fast transaction but may be in that time block might be full.

hey mate now days the tranactions in the world has increases so so too overcome this bitcoin users have to send double of normal fees so just send 0.0002btc at a minimum because now that is known as normal miner fees

If this was the transaction then it is already confirmed : https://blockchain.info/tx/a0adbffda462efdfc5003b0d2a6fb83b4f1ed851cd69daf1c94c9f8dd0fe5961

And has 27 confirmations right now.

OP, you said you use electrum wallet, just use dynamic fee feature and make it 50k Sats/KB, you won't face such problems again.

I experiended the same problem two days ago,but Iam on the receiving end. They said that the btc network was congested and having a low transaction fees/low priority to process. It takes almost 3 days to confirmed, just be patient.
