Title: Feed your pet using bitcoins
Post by: Monster Tent on January 24, 2013, 10:36:18 PM
It would be funny to send bitcoins to a specific address that triggers a release of pet food. Then you could feed your pet from anywhere in the world  :D

Why do you need to pay your robot to feed your dog when you could just put it on a timer?  If you really need the flexibility a simple password authenticated http server would require dramatically less hardware than a bitcoin wallet.

You dont really need a wallet per se. Just watch a specific bitcoin address on the blockchain which triggers the action. No wallet needed.

That dog can easily get to the food. (I know my cat can, had not had a dog in years)

That is apart from that pipe being a way too short.

Sure, you could just poll blockchain.info or something, but I still don't see the point (also I hate polling and avoid it whenever possible).  Also, you need to check that you were the sender of the transaction, otherwise your dog might start buying bitcoins so he can get food whenever he wants (or you piss someone off and they dump all your food).
