Title: Bitcoin Price Spike Again?
Post by: mikehersh2 on March 09, 2016, 02:28:40 AM
We all know about the huge increase in the value of BTC in 2014, do you think this major spike in price could happen again? If so, soon? Let me know what you think.

Everyone is saying that it can happen but nobody knows when it will happen.
Most, point to smoe time before the Halving, which will greatly affect the supply of bitcoin.
Stay tuned, cause it can happen any minute now!

There is a lot of talk about "2016, the year of BTC", and I don't know if that is for sure. But I'm sure we are all praying for another spike like the one a few years ago. That is why I am holding my BTC and waiting for a price increase before selling.

There's a good chance the price spikes have leapt across to alts for now at least. The last explosion occurred before margin trading was widespread and there were less exchanges. It's a more complex and distributed market now. That dampens the really wild moves.

the price jump of late 2013 was a combination of 3 things

1. reward halving
2. ASICS - the important one
3. china exchanges adoption.

number 2 is important because it was within a couple weeks of the first real ASICS that the price started to move. and because most of the asics were 'made in china' point 3 also helped push the speculation to astronomical levels.

i think this winter (after the reward halving) will see a rise. but not to the magnitude of the 2013 event

in my opinion, everything can happen to bitcoin price.
anything can happen. maybe the price will go up, or even going down.  ;D

it willl go up, it will go down.. daily, weekly monthly and yearly. no one can predict accurately to a 100% assurance how much or when the biggest movements will happen.

all we can do is specualte from the past, and use that as a best guestimate for the future.

Mr. Miagi of 'karate kid' has great wisdom of speculative economics.. 'look Daniel-son, upppp, dowwwn, uppp, dowwwwn'

More possibility is there for a spike in the the year 2016. Reason halving takes place this year after a great fall in the year's starting. This price fall has been made to increase within few weeks. Same will happen with halving but the huge price spike takes place.

when segwit is delayed, miners will bypass Core and push 2MB blocklimit on us early. everyone will cheer! "We have the power!" we will all feel much better, knowing bitcoin's destiny isn't in the hands of a handful of devs employed by blockstream, and then ... well then ... hahaha

And so the reason why manipulation and FUD kept pushing to move to ETH to bitcoin price go low and that they can buy more to profit this coming halving. Check what is going to happen after halving for most of them will leave the ETH to rot. Just stay tune.

i think we are going to see another big rise (bubble) this year for bitcoin. the chance of that happening is high. my main reason is the expectation of people about the halving and its effect. besides there are a lot of whales and small investors who have been accumulating bitcoin from $230 until now just because of this big rise.

p.s. this is more of a speculation section than bitcoin discussion, better move it there.

I think we re going to see a lot of activity in the last month before halving. Why do people wait till the last moment to increase their stash, and pay huge premium due to this, is beyond my imagination.

It's going to happen but not like how it went all the way up in 2014. It's going to be in smaller scale and step by step unless all factors combined then sure enough we could go all the way up like before. The halving alone has a lot of saying on it but we never know if a factor goes against it, in the future.

This is starting to get really annoying. Educate yourself and realize the protocol is fundamentally broken and will not scale realistically without seriously addressing those issues. Any rise in price is nothing more than a pump and dump to take your money.

I don't think so,with bitcoin struggling to stay around 410-440 i don't see it rising too much in 2016

Well many believe that the price of bitcoin will spike in the next 5 months or so,and it will surely rise as its still early of the year to predict what would the price will be this year.
Wel if you look at some old graph you will see that theres not much differences.

no one know, but we are now at the same point of when we were at 400+ when the big dump begins after that 1200 peak, the next move should be to regain the 600-800 market value(which was another point that was able to withstand to the big dump)

and then you have the possibility to reach the notorious peak

I dont think we will see that spike (i mean spike like new ATH, not few bucks increase) before block size problem is resolved. Halving will have influence on price but maybe not right after event actually happen and not that big like we all want.

anything can happen because we are approaching  halving in reward which will limit the supply with the current demand. I think price has to be increased before it. So better decision is to hold till halving waiting for a spike like past.

And 4., and most important, which you've forgotten was "Willy-bot" and Mt.Gox which was a malicious program generating fictive USD and buying Bitcoins.

Bitcoin price these days is unstable and the graphs are showing red colors because of the drop of the bitcoin, I hope the upcoming weeks the bitcoin price will increase again and be back at $450+ as it was before.

There have been bigger bubbles before end of 2013 remember, check back the chart in term of % gains.  As long as the bitcoins survives it will have future bubbles and atm it seems strange the price is being held down.

Its not strange why the price is being held down, they are manipulating the prices so that they can gain profit when theres a big rise of price.
