Title: BUG IN ELECTRUM
Post by: RealBitcoin on March 09, 2016, 09:04:00 PM
There is a big bug in electrum that i`ve experienced for 2 days, first I thought its just lag, but now i see it's not.

I`m not sure if its from the servers end, or if its from the new electrum version, but there is this bug:

1) When I receive a transaction, it doesnt show up in the transaction ledger, however i can already see it on blockexplorer.com or blockchain.info.
Even if I close electrum and open again it doesnt show up. I have to wait way more to get it added there.

Sometimes it was unconfirmed transactions that werent showing up, by the time they were visible in online block explorers.

But now i experienced a transaction that had already 3 confirms on all block explorers and it was still not visible in my balance, not even as unconfirmed.

2) Another bug was when I had a wallet file, that had issue syncing, it was a brand new wallet had only 3 transactions and it took 10 minutes to resync.

I tried closing it, opening again, manually changed electrum servers and still it took a lot of time.

I restored the same wallet from the seed, and then it synced in 3 seconds.

So there are some issues with the new electrum version, or some other unknown bug.

I was using the latest 2.6.2, so looks like it might be a bug with the servers or something like that.

A sync problem that havent been detected since. I think it needs to be fixed fast.

Not facing any such issues, did you guys verify the authenticity of the files you downloaded? It is crucial you do this to make sure the file you're installing came from the original source and was not tampered with in any way.

I still don't think there is a bug, you guys either have some network problem or something else, hard to say what it is but if you think it is definitely a bug, then report it here: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues with as much details as possible for proper solution.

I dont know, i still have this issue some times but not that frequently anymore.

I hope it gets fixed, if it pops out more times then i`ll try to see what could cause it, to make it repeatable.

What happens if you run Electrum with verbose (AKA -v option) ?
Post the log at a pastebin and URL it here.

i dont know ,its hard to reproduce the enviroment necessary to get this bug sometimes it happens, sometimes it dont.

I also suspect that it might be from my internet connection, which sometimes has bad days since its been rainy here in the past weeks.

But then again, it would be better if i could isolate the source of this problem.
