Title: Bag Hodlers
Post by: Minecache on March 10, 2016, 08:42:37 AM
During the lifespan of your career in trading crypto currencies what has been your largest bag hodling disaster and how, if ever, did you dump it?

I bought 20 LTC and 10000 DOGE around the peak. I dumped them a month ago for ETH.

No single disaster, just bad planning. I did a lot of mining. I should have sold a lot more immediately on trading instead of believing in their future. Worst feeling was losing my MONA that was on Cryptsy. Not a lot, but I've always liked MONA for the most stupid reason.... I love their desktop wallet splash screen!

Garza's Prime stakers and Paycoin was the worst for me.

And I usually hold coins that I mine way too long.

I think a lot of us have this problem. I'm not holding anything anymore other than LTC and BTC.

I am a collector.
From the not so scarce coins usually none, others some.

Well that's not too bad,  there are people who've bagholded and got scammed for much more.  I'm an absolute piker so I haven't gotten burned that bad yet.  And I don't buy much more than some btc, doge, and dash.

My personal best was Mazacoin. I put in about $50 equivalent then went away for the weekend. It was about 20c when I returned.

That's what they told me. It didn't pan out like that. I don't understand why not. It's not fair.

Not taking mortgages and buy Monero when it was 0.001 a few months ago.

Litecoin. Bought one at $28/LTC and still have it ... (half of it at Cryptsy ;D). I think it's not even worth the time to try to sell it now at $3.

But overall, I can't complain about my altcoin trades. Although I'm a (very) small fish :)

LOL!

You realize how many people came to Crypto and Bought Bitcoins when it was over grand each ?

100% of them got burned and took a loss.

ALL i have met on the street is people who said they *TRIED* that Bitcoin thing..
I rented a place for a few years and i was talking to my landlord / property owner
and he told me he "tried BTC trading" out..
When BTC went to a grand and when he said that ..past tense tells me one thing.
He cashed out for a loss ..no way around it.

That was not an isolated incident.. many jumped in and out of crypto fairly quick.
THIS is actually the norm..not you guys STILL here desperate, stubborn & delusional.
BAG HOLDING

I recall clearly all those BTC 10k chanters.. i laughed and said no fucking way, not happening.
But the people who are blind & dumb are happy to buy BTC at 1k each thinking it's going to 10k.

People are stupid .

Oh please please PLEEEEEESE let me have just one more.. Doge Pump ROFL
..says the Doge bag holder LOL
ya... THAT is smart "Investing" hahahahhah

Yes this can be a good tactic for time to time. I also have few wallets with old alts , now already forgotten.
But i hope they will return when this ICO mania stops. Some of them were mined with my GPU.

It's weird you mention this, as I did pretty much the same exact thing. At the time I was brand new to crypto, had only crumbs to play with, and put in like $40 or so (which at the time was a lot of my meager stash of btc crumbs)... and I'm thinking this is cool, maybe this Indian BTC could be worth 5-10x as much, maybe even more. And down, down it goes, seemingly immediately, down to smithereens.

Useful lesson at the time.

Those are crypto games! One day you can be a king and another day nothing.
I remember story about mazacoin and official cripto of Lakota indians, this is funny now.
But this coin is pow and it is still alive.
So when you  choose to invest in coins better choose pow coins.
