Hi guys, any 1 or 2 words that explain bitcoin.  ;)
Im doing an article about bitcoin. i was wondering if theres a 1 word that explain bircoin.

its almost impossible to explain about bitcoin to general people with just one word,you need more than 2 sentence to explain about bitcoin in your article.
but if you tell us one word about bitcoin,i will pick "money"

i m agree with you, its impossible to explain about Bitcoin in 2 words,
it better if use 2 sentences.

For most people I tell them to think of an excel spreadsheet that consists of an account name and a bitcoin balance. In order to move some balance from your account to someone else's account you need your password which is a "private key". The amount is transferred and the spreadsheet is updated.

After that simple concept sinks in I say that the excel spreadsheet is actually a distributed ledger that lives on thousands of people's computers. And the act of transferring uses the power of encryption to make sure that only you can move those bitcoins.

At that point they usually ask about where the bitcoins come from, which I then start talking about mining. For that I just say that 25 are created every 10 minutes, that the thousands of computers out there actually run bitcoin and at the same time search for a random number using computing power. If the computer finds that random number it is rewarded with the 25 bitcoins. And that every 4 years that reward is halved, it started at 50, is now 25 and this summer will be 12.5. This is so that there will be a maximum number of 21 million somewhere around 2140.

Bitcoin does a bit more than that, but such a simple explanation usually gives someone a decent idea of how Bitcoin works.

it would be a really hard thing to do as bitcoin is a really complex mechanism and it is nearly impossible to explain it in 2 words

i think i would choose, decentralized  and free, as it is not in power of governments and the fees are really small to send it anywhere

2 words only gives shadow of what bitcoin really is. you need more than 2 words and 2 sentences to explain it to people who really don't know bitcoin.

but if you need 1 word only, well then I say bitcoin is "cryptocurrency"

it is not possible to explain bitcoin in one or two words. not if you want your reader to understand bitcoin.

in short it is the decentralized money of the future with high security, fast speed and low fees.

It's a tricky one to explain BTCitcoin in 1 or 2 words since it's usage doesn't summarize on 1 or two aspects either but the following might help you: 1.Less fee 2.Non controllable 3.Easy transaction 4.Hassle free 5.Universal money 6.People money 7.Pseudonymous 8. Freedom usage

"Innovative money" could be two words, although it would not satisfy all what Bitcoin is. To explain it in a word would be even harder but what about "decentralized"?

use 2 words to explain about bitcoin,that words is "future" & "payment"  use that on your article,i'm sure so many new comer will curious and interesting about this,and you can explain with long sentences if they start read your article.

What you said is correct, in short it is decentralized online money with low transaction fee with high security. But it also depends that to whom you are going to explain about Bitcoin. If you are explaining to a Online Internet knowledgeable with computer skill then this is enough to tell, if he dont have knowledge about computer skills only uses internet for personal purpose then i think you have to give some more detail about Bitcoin in his way of knowledge.

currently there are plenty forums related bitcoin do not be lazy for that because you just only use google to search what is bitcoin and how it does working and you will get the best answers regarding your questions

Public Blockchain or Decentralized Blockchain or Public financial ledger {uhm that was 3 words} You will have to be very creative to explain Bitcoin in one word. Let's be honest, most people cannot

explain it in 5 paragraphs. There is so many facets to Bitcoin, and different tokens and uses, I would not even know which one to leave out. Good luck with your article and explaining it in one word.

if you want to keep things simple and easy to understand then use a short "flash" video that shows how bitcoin works. but it might require you to spend some time creating content.

you can even use the new high quality small size "Webm" format for it, so it can be run on browsers without flash player installed.

for those who don't know what Bitcoin is, 2 words: Bull Shit; for those who know, one word: Brilliant  ;)

You can call it as 'Future Money', because this is what we gonna use for the future. I think that's will pretty much explain about what is Bitcoin.
