Title: Donald Trump & Bitcoin
Post by: phibay on March 12, 2016, 12:26:15 AM
Rumors have it that Donald Trump is supportive of Bitcoin, however I'm having trouble finding solid evidence of this. Does anyone have articles or videos from creditable sources?

Would it make any difference if Mr. Trump supports it or not?

Whoever gave you that information is wrong. Those are simply rumors. There is no official or solid proof or I think its ever gonna be because ,its just an initiative started by some retarded Trump Supporter like an online petition for Donald Trump to accept bitcoins as the future currency of the USA.If you support it,here are the links :

(Apparently, liking their facebook page is counted as a support too)

To my knowledge, there are no accurate sources saying that Trump is supporting Bitcoin.

It is likely he will address it at some time in the future, but as it currently stands he has not said anything about it (Again, based on what I know).

There is a thing called Trumpchain that exists, however, maybe that is where the rumors started?

If he becomes president I think hes more likely to ban it if not declare war on it because you know... only terrorists and criminals use it.

If Trump had invested in Bitcoin, he would definitely be promoting it like everything else he promotes.  I haven't heard him say anything about it.

I don't think The Donald has offered his position on bitcoin officially as of yet or if he ever will. Who knows if he's even heard of it. Though it's hard to imagine that someone like him hasn't heard of bitcoin up until now.

Those are only rumours. I am not sure whether Trump likes, or dislikes Bitcoin. There is really no way to tell as he hasn't said anything about Bitcoin.

AFAIK he hasn't said anything in favor or against it yet, I am sure he is well aware of it but doesn't wants to clear his stance on this as it may go against him.

Majority of people still think bitcoin is only used by criminals and terrorists. So it is likely Trump may just ban bitcoin as far as i know he has not shown any public support for bitcoin and maybe he doesn't consider bitcoin to be a big subject so he may not talk about it in future.

I don't think Trump supports bitcoin, already bitcoin doesn't have much acceptance in America again if Trump becomes the President he will make strict regulations on bitcoin usage.

First of all it does not make any difference whether he supports bitcoin or not one thing is for sure bitcoin has a bright future and idea about its concept whereas donald trump is a certified loser and bankrupt

We love bitcoin because it is not owned or controlled by any government so why should we care if mr Trump or Brup support it or not? I dont think big financial institutions will support any politician who support bitcoin because bitcoin can ruin there business

There is not much to worry about as he will not be the next president of the U.S. Trump is nothing more than a clown. If he indeed turns out to be the next president, I think you will be right when it comes to him banning Bitcoin usage at any form throughout the entire nation.

It's not always about money, sometimes people have enough money and needs a new drug... this drug is "power" The highest possible position to be in, when it comes to "power" is being elected as

the president of a country. If that position turns out to be the president of one of the super powers of this world.. well, then you made. Donald Trump has enough money... he does not need the

government salary, they will be offering him, he can do it for FREE and still make millions from his other investments. Fame and fortune runs together....

In my opinion, Trump will do anything and support everything what can help him to become US President.
I don't think that bitcoin is important issue for him now because he can't get much popularity or votes on this topic.
If he realize that bitcoin is popular among young voters in USA, he may decide to give public support for BTC :)
It's easy to give support for anything during politic campaign but completely different story to do something concrete about it later.

Maybe then the question that should be asked is what will happen if Trump support btc and what if he's not?
A new president's decree or a new rule regarding banning or adapting btc on a first world country as US would -more or less- create a stir on cryptocurrencies

Supporting bitcoin is just to add more tech savvy to his voter.

When you have rich players involved with bitcoin, they would certainly play just for profit as many already do.
Pumping and dumping destabilising bitcoin prices/fluctuations/ prices down.

Trump and dump is not needed, I disilke those who do this just for gain.

Nobody (except the Winklewoss twins) has stated how much they have invested in Bitcoin and how bullish they are.
If Trump (or any one of the super rich guys) invests in Bitcoin, they will have a vested interest in ensuring that the price doesn't drop.

Would it make any difference if Mr. Trump supports it or not?

If the future president of the free world were to support bitcoin, yes! It would make a difference. Duh. lol

The main thing that people don't understand is the significance and importance of what Satoshi wanted to achieve. The internet unshackled information, but it was Satoshi that began the quest to unshackle money. He passed the torch to Gavin, then Gavin dropped the ball.

But Satoshi understood it wasn't just about bitcoin, it was about the invention. He knew that bitcoin could fail, but he had a fail-safe already in mind. He was like a god creator. And every single cryptocurrency that follows him is a direct descendant of his child. I guess you can think of altcoins as his grandchildren.

And this great evolution of money will continue whether Trump supports it or not, just like the internet evolved with hardly a mention. To be honest, it would be of greater benefit to Trump to learn of bitcoin and the coming crypto generation, than any benefit a Trump endorsement would bring to us.

~~

I have nohing against bitcoin, hell, I even own a little. But I'll tell you what I hate is that damn Ethereum. If elected president, I would not only ban Ethereum, but instate mandatory minimum sentences for anyone caught using Ether. The reason is that we need to kill Ethereum before it falls into the hands of the Iranians!

He could draw tons of attention to Bitcoin, but the statements might be very negative.
With the increased protests at his events, the odds of him winning the election seem to be extremely small.

We cant count him accepting bitcoin donations for presidential campaign as supportive of bitcoin tbh.  Most politicians will try and recruit voters by appearing to support many causes pre getting votes.  Then when you've voted away your life for 4 years they do whatever they like, oldest trick in the book.

LOL, Bitcoin is not used by terrorists, if you read news, you must know it. (REF: http://cointelegraph.com/news/terrorists-not-using-bitcoin-politicians-want-to-regulate-it-anyway )
Criminals use it but standard people use it because of its relatively low time requirement and fees (45 minutes (?), 0.001 BTC at maximum)
But the controversy of block size may prove this wrong, so do I oppose it.
If someone like Donald Trump becomes the U.S. President then I think BTC will be banned too.

Always the fear of banning bitcoin. Yet not a single person has show how this would work.
I suspect it would work about as well these other proud bans from American history:

1. Ban on race mixing
2. Ban on drinking alcohol and other drugs
3. Ban on homosexuality
4. Ban on private ownership of gold
5. Ban on women voting
6. Ban on per-marital sex

Good luck banning anything.  ;)
