Hey all!  Just started mining here, and have a few questions:

Is running two ati 5770's (two seperate systems) decent for a small time shop?

Should I be solo mining or pool mining? 

My bitcoin addres is:  13aFhx4N5PsS6A2Pogwi7P5RafTSCta9U9  not sure how to send / receive payments.  Any help here?

I've read a lot of forums / looked at calculators, and when they claim you should make money back on your investment within XX number of days, does that mean if you sell your bitcoins at the current rate?

You should be in a pool. The lower the pools fee, the more Bitcoins you will earn. There is a guide at the top of the forums here.

Join pool, start mining, casually browse the forums for more questions and answers while your cards chug hashes.

You'll be mining at ~470mh/s making 0.83btc a day (~$26 at time of writing)

Yes, but at the moment the rate is going up :)

How exactly does one receive that ~$26?  I know about mtgox and such, but without having btc, not sure if other people have sold and how they receive their money from it.

The exchange rate is 30.5$ per btc at the moment, so 0.83*30.5= ~$25.

--edit, oh sorry. um, you can use mtgox, another exchanger, private transaction over the forums or #bitcoin-otc.

Also, I did look into http://www.tradehill.com/?r=TH-R11073 (http://www.tradehill.com/?r=TH-R11073) as they seem to be a good competitor to MtGox.  After a few days I'll see if I can't sell my coins.  Hoping for the best. 

Can anyone share their success story of how they've made money recently and their rig they used?

@phewajack: first you need to start mining at a mining pool. here´s a overview of the most know pools: http://btcxc.info/mining.html

after you mined your fist BTCs you can transfer them to your own BTC account or directly to a exchange service (http://btcxc.info/btcxc.html) where you can trade your BTCs for other currencies.

sending BTCs is really easy! 1. you need a wallet address -> donload the current BTC client @bitcoin.org, install it and there´s your wallet number. then you enter this number ino the payout form at your mining pool and the BTCs should come your way.

well, i was mining there too for a time. id use the current version of gpuminer which can be found here: http://forum.bitcoin.org/?topic=3878.0
just make two different opencl miners, each for one hd5770 and add the following flags: "-v -w 128" (without the ""). now you should be fine!

But now you won't tell me where you mine so I can't come and steal some of your profits!!  Sounds like a true BTC miner!

you told me u were mining at slush´s pool so i told u about my experience. and im running a page where u can compare all the current pools too.
but all i get is some insults.
