Title: Signature maker
Post by: stiffbud on March 17, 2016, 07:39:13 AM
I want to try to create a signature here in the forum but I don't honestly know how. I know it's composed of bbcodes but can you guys suggest where I can practice making sigs? An editor or something like that.

Go to any reply page, new thread page, blank PM page,...
Play around, test and practice.
Instead of clicking post, pust click preview, safe a draft and see the results instantly.
That's the most basic version.

Check the signature campaigns threads to see their BBcodes and see how it looks like and try to make your own style (test with the method given above) .

yeah, you can copy one of the signatures that you like and start from there, so you are not starting from scratch.

but also you might want to google how to turn text to BBCode for forum signature, or a similar key word.
i did this a while back and found a couple of things that worked but they were all simple code. you might find a proper bot/code that turns text into BBCode with all the background, color and shapes you like. don't forget to share if you found one.

And also  you can try edit someone signature by copying their signature and edit it on post reply. Like me, i learn about signature from editing someone signature.

As already stated, do some trial and error by using existing signature codes. You could use this editor in order to test and preview your creation. http://www.wysibb.com

Otherwise, you could let create a signature from a professional like him https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1142066.0
Prices are usually between 0.05 and 0.25 BTC depending on the signature style requirements.

Best way is to buy a hero member account and test signatures of any ranks one by one.

This is because hero or legendary members have the potential to accept all signatures and there is no restrictions in BBcodes.

But do not try signature makers because they will make your signature shitty.

The best method is to collect current signature from the signature campaigns and experiment with them, also there is a website to 'learn' the basics of bbcode http://www.teamopolis.com/tools/bbcode-table-generator.aspx but trying yourself here in forum is the best idea.

Nice. I always wanted to learn some coding before I turn into a ineffective dinosaur left behind with my fat fingers.
Thanks for the link and look forward to seeing what Stiffbud creates.

@Luptin

Dont you create signatures as well? I know you seem to have your hands in a lot of different aspects and thought I saw that somewhere.

You're welcome, let us know when you do any signature work, but keep in mind that there are some limitation when creating signature for different ranks:

- Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters.
- Jr. Member: Links allowed. Max 150 characters.
- Member: Unlimited length.
- Full: Color allowed.
- Sr. Member: Size allowed
- Hero: Background color allowed

Yes, I've made a few. I know how to do them, but mine are mostly just basic ones, though I've tend to find beauty in the simple.
The signature we used for the OneHash.com campaign was one of mine, for example.

There's a really good thread on how to make a signature here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1727100.0

I hope this helps!
