BTC2BID is a new concept of bitcoin exchange platform: it works as aggregator of deals, blind-auction and escrow system, to provide an easy, real-time and secure method to complete face to face bitcoin transactions (both buy and sell) with cash.

At signup the user will select the city where he can complete the transactions (meet the other party in a specific place of the city to receive or give the cash), then, after just a mobile phone verification, he will be able to start trading!

The site is designed with the maximum simplicity and smoothest UX in mind, and is organized in tabs:

• Track my deals, to have an instant overview of the on-going deals status
  
• “Buy” Bitcoins, to bid on open buy deals and also to post new buy deals
  
• “Sell” Bitcoins, to bid on open sell deals and also to post new sell deals
  
• “Bonus” tab, to have an overview about the bonuses status (signup and referral)

Sign up will be only possible by invitation. A referral bonus of $10 worth of Bitcoins is directly credited to the account of the user who sends the invitation and a special bonus of $10 worth of Bitcoins to the account of the new user.

The bonus balance works as 10% premium on buy deals (Ex: buy 0.05 BTC and receive 0.055 BTC) or as 10% discount on sell deals (Ex. sell 0.05 BTC and deliver 0.045 BTC)

Escrow is already implemented and applies in every matched deal to protect both buyer and seller.

BTC2BID is based on blind auctions therefore fake bidding to inflate the price doesn't work
Blind auction, more specifically, means that the winner is first bid equal or higher than the amount set by the deal maker and each bidder doesn't know the bid amount of other participants.

Transactions limits are $20 - $2,000 for each deal. We intend to serve users in any city starting from where there's sufficient trading volume.
For this reason we are looking for market makers and more in general, users that have experience with local trades (localbitcoins, mycelium, ecc...) in all cities where Bitcoins trading volume is strong.

I looked at the screen shots it looks lik an auction house style site.
But my question is. How are payments for the winning bid processed? I mean, how are the payments received? By bank transfer, paypal, perfect money, etc?

BTC2BID keeps the btc in escrow til both parties meet and complete the cash exchange. There is no fiat payment that the user will need to process through the site.

How will you know if a transfer is complete? What happens if there is a dispute? How do you determine the winning party in a dispute?

You can check a deal status in Track My Deals page and there’s also a notifications system. Once the unique passcode is entered in the system within the required time limit the deal is completed. If this doesn’t happen the deal expires. In this case the Helpdesk opens automatically a ticket for the buyer and for the seller in order to understand what went wrong. Buyer and seller are required to explain the reasons why they were not able to meet within the required time limit, and possibly to give supporting evidence of that. Buyer's and seller's full cooperation is required in order to solve the dispute quickly. In case one of the parties will not be cooperative, the Helpdesk has the right to take note of this behaviour in the dispute settlement.

30 minutes to deposit escrow are definitely not enough! (i missed the deal because i was at dinner. Maybe an sms alert would be cool)

Well, what if the buyer enters the passcode and the transaction is marked as completed and no cash is delivered? Even if the buyer complains there is no proof of undelivered cash.
The buyer needs to deposit an escrow amount: what if the seller says the buyer didnt deliver the cash? Even if the seller complains, there is no proof of delivered cash.
Solution: GIMMIE THE CASH I GIVE YOU THE PASS! (sorry caps). You dont need the buyer to be sure that's the seller: he got my phone, email, name and last name and met me where they agreed to. Everything already came out from website verification+phone verification+(hopefully soon) 2FA.
Also: buyer needs to deposit escrow amount. Basically if you want to buy 1 btc you need to own 1 btc already.

It could be a problem also if deal is matched during night hours (like 2 am), but in this case refund process is automatic and very smooth for the party that has already paid, so there won't be the extra task for both the site and the party to open and manage a dispute ticket.

SMS alert is definitely something that we will keep in consideration


The buyer will only receive the passcode after the delivery of the cash to the seller, otherwise the seller shouldn't give the code.
To be 100% secure of the honesty of the seller, the buyer can instantly enter the passcode on his mobile device after receiving it, so the operation is done with both parties present and there is no risk of a false passcode.



If the buyer don't deliver the cash, seller just won't give passcode to the buyer. In this case a proof of delivered cash is not needed, the deal will just fail after 24 hours and both parties will be refunded.



This maybe could be a discouraging point for bitcoin beginners, but is something necessary to have fair trades, with both parties that will take seriously the task of concluding a deal.

Basically the buyer will need to deposit the 10% of the amount that he want to buy, this will be the guarantee that buyer won't pull out of the deal after matching it. (So, to correct your example, if you want to buy 1 btc, you will need to have 0.1 btc in your wallet)

IMO you cant withdraw it, you need to sell it and find a buyer around your location. Once you find a buyer and deal your order, so you can get the cash from the buyer..

About the withdrawal,I think you have to complete one trade successfully.The concept is to buy/sell bitcoins by cash locally ,so there is no withdrawal option .You sell your bitcoins and collect cash in personal while your coins will be held in escrow,once you get the cash,your coins will be released to the buyer.

Hi! In the rules page you can find a nice explanation about how referral bonus works, just quoting here for reference:


So for example, let's say that you have just signed up and you have your 0.025 BTC (10 USD equivalent) bonus in your account. Then you match a buy deal of 0.1 BTC, so you will receive 0.1 BTC + 0.01 BTC of 10% boost bonus in BTC from the system.

Now let's say that you have matched a 1 BTC buy deal, in this case you will receive 1 BTC + 0.025 BTC (all your bonus balance at once), this because the 10% of 1 BTC is greater than your bonus balance.

Last but not least, the sell case: you have always 0.025 BTC (10 USD equivalent) as bonus balance and you match a sell deal of 0.2 BTC (so you deposit btc and receive cash from the user). In this case, the 10% boost works as a discount, so system will ask you to deposit in escrow 0.18 BTC instead of 0.2 BTC

I cant find my city when I try to update my profile the city where I can do the pick up cash, hope you can add more cities in Indonesia. I see there are some small cities of Indonesia but where I live is bigger city than those listed on your site.

You can try signing up with the biggest city in your same province, and then when you will create deals you should be able to select locations also in your city.

I love this new concept of bitcoin exchange platform, what i would suggest some changes are: be able to change the location even after registration, when i was registering the verification code was a bit delayed to verify my email.
Another thing is changing or adding a live support, i know it is just the beginning but something like these pics that i took and edited slightly, is a bit more user friendly:

Are the servers being upgraded? Trying to access site get the following error Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. Hoping you guys resolve this as am trying to access site and setup trades and get things moving with this site. Looks simple enough to use and navigate though orders. Hoping see backup soon :)

So here comes my review about the site so far with what I have used.

1 Signing up really simple, straight forward process to signing up when having beta code to access no doubt will be simple process to join once out of beta stages.

2 Navigation is simple enough to work around. Idea of improvement. Where you currently have buy and sell options in top right maybe to move to central top middle just under Sell Deals with Cash would look better and simple to navigate around than having to look around for buy and selling.

3 Layout and color design is nice and not hard on the eyes. Maybe to also have an option to have a few different themes like dark and light and bold or some others such as people with bad eye site making bigger fonts readable for people :)

4 Security features: Please add in IP security Session security and also 2 step verification.

5 Other crypto being supported. I know this is BTC to bid but also adding in other crypto would be an advantage here being allowed to sell for fiat funds like have on site currently but also trading BTC for other crypto and other alts for BTC would be good too.

So far despite a few bumps all things working very good so far and providing an amazing service. I do plan to do my first order on here at some stage once their is enough activity and trades going tough to use your services. I think that if you action some of the feedback and review am sure you will see more people coming in and using. I look forward to the future of this site and its services that it will have in the future am sure.

Well most sites now require some sort of verification and to be honest without verification most people will not trade with people as security trust and verification comes first when trading. If not for you then that is your choice simple pay and go number or old number you don't use that often to prove ownership simples.

The most common problem is that city that you're trying to register is too small, so is not present in the site. In this case you can choose the biggest city near you, and then, when creating deal, set as location your city. This trick should work.

The bonus is not withdraw-able. It works like a discount when you make sell order deal and it works like a bonus when you make a buy order deal.

Hello again, I am posting here to write my review about the BTC2BID website.

Let's start with layout of the website, it looks good, the colors of all buttons and the whole layout is very nice. I often use different devices, so it is also nice that the site is responsible, which makes it accesable to all platform users. The sign up and login process is super easy and quick to do, also the email to verify my account was received quickly and doesn't get marked as spam.

When it comes to buy and selling bitcoins, it is all easy to do once I read the tutorial/FAQ. I have not made a deal yet, but i have participated in the alpha stage so I know how it goes. The escrow system is also an very handy and unmisable element of the site, so it will prevent to get scammed or scam others. I saw that there is also a security that only serious buyers/sellers do trades, because they also need to pay a bit of btc so that it can not be spammed with fake deals.

The bonus amount was a good idea to attrack new users and get people to use the site.
Very smart marketing is going on :).

I heard that there was a recent ddos attack and I like it that right after the ddos attack happened that security measurments were taken to prevent another attack, and to ensure users to be able to use this service.

My advice is to add altcoins, so that the public is larger, which will lead to more users using the site.
So people can directly exchange their altcoins to cash instead of from an altcoin to bitcoin and then to cash.

Also make the site quicker, sometimes the website is very slow loading for me, and that is not my internet.
Mayby upgrade to a better hosting plan, or a better server.

I like this site, it has a great, compact, and easy to understand design.
What I don't like from this site is, it's a little slow to load the site on my computer. And also I think the red color is doesn't quite fit with the design, maybe the red should be replaced with a blue color.

Actually the red color is not a important thing, and if they change it tu blue it will be so boring because everywhere will only blue.
Regarding the slow load on your pc, it could be a problem on your connection. It is loaded fast enough here both with pc and mobile phone (even using mobile phone is even faster)

It could be my connection problem, because my internet speed is pretty slow here it's around 6 mbps.

Bonuses - prevention of abuses

BTC2BID is based on the concept of competitive bidding between buyers and sellers who don’t know each other when they bid on any given deal.

However, we detected that several users who know each other have used the system to post and bid with an agreed bidding amount and with the sole purpose to cash out the bonus. This is an abuse of the system. We regularly paid out the bonuses used in these deals, but we took the decision to block some of these users who also used multiple accounts. 

The bonuses have the purpose to stimulate the use and understanding of the working mechanism of BTC2BID, which is a free and competitive way to trade bitcoins from person to person in any given city.

We like to reward real users with the bonuses and we will keep this approach, however the system has to be sustainable and has to reward as much legitimate users as possible and not just a small portion of them, and it has to stimulate real deals.

But we realized that using 10% discount/premium of bonus in all deals and for all the users stimulates too much an improper use of the system by the users. For this reason we are now experimenting a different use of bonuses. All accounts continue to receive 10$ worth of bitcoins at signup and 10$ worth of bitcoins for each referral, with the bonus balance working as 1% discount on each deal when the user sells bitcoins and as 1% premium when the user buys bitcoins. Meanwhile we are also improving the automated detection of abusive use of the system. Based on the trading history of each account, BTC2BID will increase this % on a selective basis to the users who show a good engagement and a legitimate and fair use of the system.

BTC2BID is in beta test and we are continuously experimenting new tools and features. Feedback and suggestions by our users are always welcome and appreciated.

Raiblocks is interesting, but currently is in a very early stage! We need to evaluate well also how much difficult could be a technical implementation, since is not a simple bitcoin fork as far as I know.

1.You can't withdraw the bonus amount into your bitcoin address.However you can have a trade and get them in cash or whatever the terms of trade are.

2.The second bonus you get is for the free service charge I believe,that means you can have your free deposits trades with no fees (the fees are given to you as second bonus)

3.If I have understood the process completely,you should get bonus if you complete your first trade successfully.

We have made an automatic daily digest that comes via email when new deals are available in your city. If there will be even 1000 new deals we won't spam your email and you will receive just 1 daily update that will resume all of them.

It is a good news that I received some email notifications telling me that there are some available deals around me, but unfortunately I cant deal with one of them because their location is still far away from my location.
Hope there will be much more available deals around my location so I can try this service.

Feature Request:  make sharing phone number with your server optional.  Allow parties to exchange this info privately via email when they are ready.

Not everyone wants to share their contact info with a 3rd party in their database.   Even email would be best if it can be exchanged directly p2p and not through server.
