Why we took over Fedoracoin

Fedoracoin current existing issues:
1  The original dev has been gone for two years .  This coin is dying.
2  There are bugs in the two-year old wallet due to lack of maintenance.
3  The network is broken with many strange transactions (very high transaction fee).
4  The hashing power is controlled by only 1 user who is mining 99% the existing coins everyday.
5  There’s no official website or explorer.
6  The total supply is too large (500 billion). The investors can't benefit from this.

New dev team plan:
1  Will do the coin swap, all the left coin will be burned
2  New wallet , 1% pow and 1% pos , sha256 algorithm to protect the network
3  Mobile App wallet in one month

there's nothing wrong with the old source - in fact Tips is the most reliable source code & block chain I've ever encountered. It never even hiccups. I wish all wallets were this reliable.

Why not just create a new coin? - or do you simply want to exploit the current success of Tips?

Believe me, back in the days I liked the name of the coin immediately after it was launched and in the next few weeks I was able to mine 100-180 million coins/day with just 6 x R270x. I've ended up with more than 3 billion coins and participated in the "pump" when it was listed on Cryptsy (we were devastated in minutes) and lost 137 LTC (LTC price was more than $20) in seconds. I am extremely sorry for selling my coins that early, but that's the way it is... :)

@fedoradev2 - as a longtime "Tips" miner I'm not comfortable with what you propose. sha256 doesn't protect anything, it only reduces a coin to getting fewer miners since most of that mining power goes to btC. that's my main "nO WAY" thought.

But I do have a question....as Smarterhash asked.....Why don't you just go and launch your OWN coin instead of screwing with "Tips" as its getting its legs back after all the cryptsy crap. Speaking of which.....cryptsy is done....kaput....adios. Any coins there of any kind are history.

TIPS has been doing very well the past few weeks - Ive been mining it exclusively and making good money.  $100+ on  a good day with 1.5 Ghash  Price has gone way up also.  I have seen no problems what so ever with the wallet.  I went in the options and set the transaction fee at 5-10 TIPS.  No problem there.

I am especially against changing the algo, WTF?  why ??

This is one of the best coin in Scrypt algo in last years, has nice interest, high difficulty, very high rate on exchange, it's no.1 coin on bter, so I don't see any reason to swap in to SHA256, with SHA256 you will destroy coin/interest/, you see how difficulty of BTC and other SHA256 algos going too high and people pump diff and forgat on the coin !! Just name one success coin except BTC in SHA256 algo ???

Seems you 'new dev' with newbie account may only have sha256 miners?? Change the algo to something you can mine, knowing btc miners aren't going to mine it and you get to mine it yourself?

Leave the coin scrypt, so many coin get destroyed by changing algos.

2 New Fedoracoin Dev team will send exactly same amount of new Fedoracoin to address A
3 All old Fedoracoin will be automaticly swap to new Fedoracoin on bter this week.

Part two: For Old Fedoracoin on cryptsy or other exchange platforms

1 Since we do not know how many Fedoracoins on these exchange, we do not know the number of coins we need to reserve for these exchange platforms.
2 After Bter post their address, we will estimate the amount we need to reserve for cryptsy and other exchanges.
3 Then we will send these coin to a public address B which controlled by Bter
4 When cryptsy open again,Bter will swap these coin again.

If you "burn" real TiPS in your proposed conversion, you will make real original TiPS very rare indeed.

There will be 100's of billions of fake Sha256 "TIPS" on BTER, which no one will buy.  The actual losers in this endeavor will be BTER's reputation (can it go lower?) and the owner of the billions of burned coins.

For my money, I'm buying up "real" TiPS on Cryptopia   ;)
