Title: The new Avalon miners that just came out and for sale? Post by: opentoe on February 02, 2013, 03:21:09 AM When someone receives one of these devices, do you need to program it or custom make it? Or can I just run a miner program and join a pool like most people do?
I've been reading the Avalon thread and it is more confusing then anything I've ever read. Title: Re: The new Avalon miners that just came out and for sale? Post by: crazyates on February 02, 2013, 03:25:46 AM The Avalon unit has an ethernet jack, that you connect to the internet with. Then you need to remote into the unit (either thru a web portal or thru ssh) and configure the miner. It uses a modified version of CGMiner 2.10.4, so if you're familiar with that, it should be piece of cake. After the initial setup, it will automatically connect and start mining.
