Title: Never mind before. Newb Questions ahead
Post by: Stein on March 22, 2016, 01:22:27 PM
Hey guys. i just recently heard about bit coin and alt coins and have been reading like crazy.
I would like to mine with my GPU. I have this set up.

I have a 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card and a Intel Core i5 4690 @ 3.50GHz
with 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz

I'm not looking to get rich, just mess around. Is there a ELI5 to get going with that video card ?
I think I need ccminer but really have no clue.. thanks !!

Yeah come by IRC if you want answers to your questions. I mean its all Ethereum right now, so all the stuff you need relate to that. There's a calculator etc in my Sig and on IRC you can get live replies to your questions.

Dont discount mining algorithms like neoscrypt and x11.  profits are way up right now.  Im doing a multi-algo mining on zpool.ca

you need ccminer, get the latest from fork of ccminer from tpruvot.  Set up a multi-algo script, instructions are on zpool.ca  and mine away!  Im mining with autoconvert to PEPE and making good profits right now.

You're making 7USD per card per day on x11 and neoscrypt?

"Card" is vague, as its all relative to the processing power per card. I am mining with 750 ti cards.  Nvidia is generally slower than AMD for ETH mining in the first place. I am not at $7 a card for the 750 ti.  I get about .02 BTC a day for 4 x 750 ti when multi-algo mining with autoconvert straight to BTC.  I was under the impression ETH mining was very difficult now and not very profitable.

Each 750 ti does 5.3 MH ETH power.  So 4 x 750ti = 21.2 MH which equals about $5.95 a day.  I am making $8.40 a day multi-algo mining other alts.

mine ethereum, download the ethereum miner here under https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.0, choose between shift etheruem or expand, if you're not satisfied mine decred or vanilla, there is also
spreadcoin that need to be mined in solo

somethign like this will work for etheruem -U -F http://eth-mine.suprnova.cc:3000/workername/workerpass --cl-global-work 4096 --cl-local-work 64  --cuda-devices 0 1 2 etc...

With the P0 state fix, you should get nearly double the hash power on any Nvidia card. Unless maybe it doesnt apply to the 750 ti? But it might be a pain to figure out whats the right command for the right card.

Still, you did your math, so kudo, most people don't.

Well its running with ethminer.exe. -U -F http://eth-mine.suprnova.cc:3000/workername/workerpass --cl-global-work 4096 --cl-local-work 64  --cuda-devices 0

How do I know if I need --cuda devcices 01 or 2 ?

Also how does it know where to send the mined Eth ?

Sorry told you I was newb
