Title: Hi, anyone do this?
Post by: Shawnbibby on February 04, 2013, 12:30:14 AM
Hi, im completely new, and I find getting bit coins complicated as hell. Just cause im a noob and all, I was wondering if theres any respectable and reliable people on these forums who sell bitcoins for a little premium. I not exactly sure how everything works, but I need to aqquire 13.5 bit coins and Id pay a little bit more for them if I could get my hands on them nice and quick.

Thanks,
-Shorty

My book is a quick read, it'll get you up and running in a simple step by step way.  Takes most people about an hour to read.  Its on Amazon, if you do not have a kindle you can download a free kindle reader. Also check out my blog.  both cn be found in my signature.

You might find a local trader who can help you.

Also look for local bitcoin users groups.  Another way to find local users that might be able to help you.

If you are within 120 miles of Chicago, I might be willing to meet up with you for this exchange.

If you are willing to send U.S. cash, and are willing to wait until I receive the cash, I'd be willing to perform this exchange for you as well.

If you have access to a BMO Harris bank branch, and are willing to deposit cash into a bank account, I'd probably do the exchange as well.

Most other forms of payment are either too reversible, too inconvenient, or both for me to bother with them.

Although it does require some reading, I would not rule out bitinstant.com as an option. You will need to set up an Mt.Gox account, but you could then fund it and have your bitcoin right away.
Some fees, but not crippling like a credit card.

Not really a learning resource per say, but staring at blockchain.info or reading the developer docs there can help get a grasp on what can be done with Bitcoins, and thus helps explain what they are / what people do with them.

You could just go to the free bit coin sites about ten thousand times
