What do you mean with expensive?
If you're looking at low cost web servers for sure you'll not get an ssl certificate for only 59$/year. Also the ssl is guaranteed for free for every professional plan.
I've bought the SSD2 vps 2 days ago, all is working well and the prices are really nice if you look carefully the specs ;)
