If you need 5$ than you probably need a bit more, due to transaction fees. You should consider that when you make an offer.

Are you serious? This board is full of "paranoid people" that were scammed with Paypal involved.

And this are always the people that sold BTC per Paypal.

If you are on the $ sender side, with using Paypal you are pretty save.

From Scams at least, that PayPal doesn't allow Bitcoin trading is another story.

PS: The other way around is suspicious, but if it's Bitcoin -> PayPal then the rep isn't important as long as the guy goes first. Bitcoin is not reversible unlike other currencies.

How the hell can this be a scam? He is selling bitcoins for paypal. Scam is when someone buy bitcoins for paypal, but not the inverse!
