Title: How much moeny you have to lose before you start backing up?
Post by: thejaytiesto on March 27, 2016, 04:42:59 PM
Usually for me it's around 0.1. I start a game with 0.01 in my favorite game (progressive slots of 5, with max lines on). I do a couple of spins, and at least one of them will put me into a decent game where I start making a decent amount of gains, but eventually I get too greedy and lose it all.
So once I get past 0.1 invested in gambling, I don't gamble again for an entire month, sometimes more.
What is your limit then??

I don't have a limit on the maximum amounts of cash I can lose while betting. I can bet whatever I want if I feel confident in my picks and my bankroll allows me to. However I am trying to create a fall-back cushion as I am going along with my bets which is to save my original stake amount and to bet with the profit instead and should I lose that bet I can reuse my original stake again and hope for more luck next time. There are months I don't bet more than 10 mbtc because I don't feel like betting and there are days I can bet more than 1BTC per game if there is value in the odds.

The best way is to start small, like $10-$25 on an account. You will only win long term if you are directly against other players like in poker, even then you have to beat the house edge (rake) before making a profit. If you are playing games because they are all flashy or make the right noises, it means the host will win all your money. It all requires statistic analysis if you want to make profit, unless you are the very best you'll mostly be bleeding money.

Well I can't start backing up after losing 0.1 in a day which rarely happens since I bet on sports mainly and you lose one you win the other is how it goes. But if I do end up losing 0.1 then instead of backing up I'd put in more to make it up. I know "don't chase losses, right?" Its easier said than done.

I set aside .6 btc for gambling, if i lose those .6 btc i don't gamble for 5-7 months. i've already lost those allotted bitcoins in this month so i've decided not to gamble until next year. ::)

I promised to myself that I would never lose more than 0.05 in a month with gambling. By following this rule, I have managed to never lose any amounts of relevant money with gambling, which makes it more enjoyable. At the beginning it was hard because you are addicted and want more and more gambling, but once you start realizing how you don't lose that much money in gambling anymore, you feel great.

I usually play with my bitcoin that I get from my campaign so if I lose everything I will wait until next payment to continue again and that time is next month. So no matter how much I get on my campaign I will do my best not to busted it because it is one month job which is really takes time to do it

Yeah I have been tempted to spend some of the BTC I make on the campaign on gambling... I actually do sometimes, but think about it, you may think "oh well next month there will be another payment" but I have been in the campaign game for a lot of time and campaigns can disappear all of a sudden, they can announce "this is the last period" at any time, then next month you are out of getting any BTC (unless you buy it). Then you regret not saving it when the price goes up... and right now there aren't any decent campaigns going except Betcoin.ag. The rest pay like peanuts.

I usually compare the price of the other entertainment I usually do { Going to the movies or going out to a restaurant } and decide what I want to do. If I budgeted for say a movie and I do not feel

like going out, or my friends are all busy, I would take that and spend it on gambling. Sometimes I gamble and win some money and then I use that and pay for a movie on Netflix and do my own

popcorn. {Usually something that is heavily over priced at the movies} If you stop going out all together because you just want to spend that money on gambling... you have to stop. Do it for the fun..

or stop doing it.  ::)

Depends on my financial situation on the time that I'm gambling. Is it near pay day, did I have to spend on car tyres etc. My answer would be different at different times.

I usually only bet around $5-10 worth total in a sitting (not per game) and once I lose that I won't play again for a few weeks.  It also depends on how much spare bitcoin I have and what other goals I'm working towards with my bitcoin at the time.
