Title: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: machaiworld on March 28, 2016, 06:01:23 AM I was thinking to invest lifetime genesis mining(5ths) or should be setup antminer s7 for my farming??
Pls suggest if there any good offer than gnesis mining..tq Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: Amph on March 28, 2016, 06:13:30 AM we need to know your electricity first, or this whole thread is pointless
but in any case genesisminign is expensive, so i would avoid Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: SFR10 on March 28, 2016, 07:34:18 AM Personally I would go with the actual Antiminer S7 purchase, over any type of cloud mining website, since you lose full control over your investment if used in a cloud mining website but when you have the actual product, it won't and can't vanish all of a sudden. Also Amph question and point is correct and necessary on this case plus there were few cases in the past that people had unpleasant experiences while using genesis mining, so you might want to take that into consideration as well.
Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: talks_cheep on March 28, 2016, 12:06:36 PM I bought a 1 Th from the genesis mining. What a scam! At first they gave good payout, then it started to drop, sometime by a half. I'm now getting a penny a day from them. AVOID!!!
Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: HagssFIN on March 28, 2016, 12:09:06 PM See this before thinking about cloud mining:
Cloudmining 101 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387 And as talks_cheep's message indicates, there is a huge possibility not to make ROI, as payouts suddenly start to drop. Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: philipma1957 on March 28, 2016, 02:31:18 PM Cloud mining is very hard to earn a profit.
as to whether you should get an s-7. 1) your power cost? 2) do you own a proper power supply? 3) can you cool the space? 4) do you tolerate the noise it makes? the new s-7 can be had for 482 if you have the 100 usd coupon. A power supply is about 150 total cost is 632 + shipping say 700 if you start from scratch . might take s7 instead, for electricity..might install at home, and planned to install solar system together for efficiency... roughly...how long can earn 1Btc with good pool(roughly) with this machine..? TQ Title: Re: S7 antminer(4.7 ths) vs genesis mining(5ths) Post by: notlist3d on March 28, 2016, 10:16:07 PM thanks for advise, might take s7 instead, for electricity..might install at home, and planned to install solar system together for efficiency... roughly...how long can earn 1Btc with good pool(roughly) with this machine..? TQ It is hard to speculate that in today's market. You can enter into over here and try different difficulty changes - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator To hit 1 BTC though .... no one can give you good speculation especially with so many S7's being sold right now. It is essentially a guess. But you did make a good choice going with getting a S7 vs cloud mining I think personally. I always said solar would not pay off but had to revise my stance after seeing phil and buysolar's thread. It can be done but a expert is needed. They set up a very nice solar setup and payoff was much sooner then when I looked at it myself, so having a expert is worth it's weight in gold. It's also very regional though. Looking through the rules and who buy's back, it is far better in some then other places. So possible yes.... but you need that expert to get most out of money. If you buy S7 yourself, you work for yourself.

If you buy S7 yourself, you work for yourself. Not sure this is making sense. You can go to hashnest and get it there.... which is from bitmain. You are not really working for yourself in my view as long as you pool mine, which is pretty much a must. I would describe it more as with buying S7 you own the hardware. I like this better then cloud mining... as I enjoy the hardware. But that is big thing is owning and running gear, not that you "work for yourself". TQ remember that the cost of the solar panel will cost you more than the s7 per watt, and will save you less in comparison to the earning of your s7 so you need to do some math, and unless your exlectricity is expensive, it's a bit pointless to use solar panels if you power cost is under say 8 cents a kwatt solar panels are meh. The state you live in is important. NJ and MA have good programs for solar credits and both states are costly for regular power. I am in NJ my power is 12.7 cents from OCT 1 to MAY 1 It is 16.7 cents from May 1 to Oct 1 so 12.7 - 3 for heat benefits of the miner = 9.7 in the winter so 16.7 +1.3 for cooling in the summer = 18.0 in the summer. So I used to sell off all my gear in April to prep for the summer and buy new gear in sept to prep for the winter.. I am now involved with a solar array with forum member buysolar. He built a large array on his land in my town of howell. I provided him with miners. So at this moment I have: 5 avalon 6's hooked up to his array. = 0 power cost 1 s-7 in a friends office. = 0 power cost 2 avalon 6's in house. = 9.7 - 12.7 cents |
