Title: [ETH-Mining] 17 MH/7970 Much lower then expected, any help is appreciated

3X7970 Rig.

The settings are as follows:

1035 Core / 1450 Memory

--cl-local-work 256 --cl-global-work 8192 flags I use.

I see threads where ppl get 24 MH/Card. Or 72 MH in total. However I manage much much less. Radon 15.12 is the version I use.
The image shown above shows the hashrate I get. How do others manage much faster speeds?

~53 MH seems in the image above, 17.6 MH/Card for the 7970 card.

I am using Ethereum 0.9.41 as it shows the hashrate of the cards. However I believe it being an earlier miner version still achieved
same speeds on other ppl rigs accordingly. Is there any settings or flags extra for additional performance?

Are you sure your 3 GPU are working, seems like 2 GPU hashes, just look on device manager to be sure.

You may try this configuration,
ethminer --cl-global-work 16384  --cl-local-work 64 and other parameters.

It is not possible to get 24 MH/s any more. The DAG file is too large, so the hash rate drops.

Image above is using "--cl-local-work 64 --cl-global-work 16384" it does seem to be slightly faster, but still no where near what others seem to get
Even at like 22MH per card would get 66 or so

Here it is using 1070/1500, tried everything. To no avail, just seems hopeless.
I don't know how others achieve these performances.

Can you try 1000/1250? I think the driver version does not affect the Ethereum mining preformance.

Flash it to 280x bios with same memory IC and try 256 16384

Days when 7970/280x did 24-25MH are long gone, nowadays 1100/1500 gives you ~20-21MH. How are your temps?

What is the brand of your 7970? Maybe you got the cheap Elpida memory.

yesh probably this, this is why i avoided amd, they have this terrible hassles of the memory to deal, with, with nvidia i never expereienced this problem, you have what you bought

In the days of 7970, the Elpida memory was slower than Hynix. Nowadays, it is similar to Hynix in performance.

No nvidia gpu can match a R9 390/290/x  ;)

The 390 can do 30~32 MH/s. The fastest 980x can only do 23~25 MH/s. But the AMD cards uses more energy.

True. Win 7 x 64. Genoil 1.0.5. My 7970 ( 1000\1500 ) = 20.9 MH\s

I mine with the 7970, but with 830/1250. The hash rate is just 18.x. I tried to save the electricity.

i can do 160w 22 mega with a 970, i doubt the 390 is better and they both cost the same

A R9 390 can do 29 MH/s at around 210 W, that is about 7.2 J/MH. The 970 is also  7.2 J/MH.  So they are similar.

well i said better not equal, it's better to go with nvidia if they are equal, nvidia is more easy to sell when you don't need it

the 970 is the best card for gamers at the moment

The 390 gives more mhs per pcie slot. Also it has lower roi time.

In one thread, it advises on the undervolting of the XFX R9 390. You can achieve around 6.5 J/MH efficiency.
