I've got one in functioning condition but at least 50 years old lying around in my cellar. Hell, I thought it was just some common 60s toy.

Looks like it. I found my exact model and case on the site http://www.pinfireguns.com/product_info.php/cPath/52/products_id/117 , which goes for 180 $ and theirs even has a damaged keychain, while mine is still complete. I'll be damned. I'd never have expected that.

Any video demonstration?

There are a couple on YouTube that I watched. Can't expect much from the flares, maybe 11-20 feet, 2-3 second burn time. Maybe good for signaling people looking in your general direction, starting fires. The blanks for starter pistol use (even though there are cheaper starter pistols out there).

An unofficial list is not the same as an official scammer tag. Open a thread accusing him and ask for moderator intervention. Post all your transaction information. It wont get your money back but will help others avoid the same fate and keep him from doing it again on this profile.
