It's good to see that corporate like Disney is hiring a blockchain expert. But in the job description, it is nowhere written that they need a developer. They just need someone who knows a bit of PHP programming and have good experience in wordpress.


Probably they want to explore the possibility of blockchain technology. But it is not very good for the general people because if the big corporate starts pouring money into blockchain, the benefits will be restricted from the general people. Lets see what happens.

General people rely on big companies for their requirement and day to day livelihood

this is another reason why the adoption, must take off first from big company and not by average joe itself, they follow the mass, they do not initiate anything by themselves(talking about average joes)

Apparently they are building Disney Private Blockchain  which will take care of the security of Walt Disney's business segment customers. I don't have the slightest idea how this will function but it's always great when big companies adopt the Blockchain technology. Another interesting fact is that this is an intern position for a Computer Engineer or an  Electrical Engineer.

Well one thing is sure,microsoft is allowing bitcoin with a third company involved,now Walt Disnew is investing at their own blockchain,soo which will be the next big company joining the technology involved at bitcoin ,the more companies comes into blockchain will be easy to them get exposed to bitcoin,and crypto world.

This only brings more attention to Bitcoin. Anything that has to do with crypto benefits Bitcoin, because there is no crypto or any other blockchain without Bitcoin.

Eventually those punks will realize they are being stupid and just move to the Bitcoin blockchain, or as a sidechain if anything when available. Meanwhile let them enjoy their DisneyCoins.

Good. This will raise more awareness about bitcoin and the whole crypto scene. I'm just wondering how that will be mined and what will be the block reward :). Scrooge McDuck's stash :)?

Will this also mean that they will introduce a Disney Coin or don't say this anything.

What was the number one performing currency in the world in 2015? Answer = Bitcoin .....It is just natural that companies will recognize an opportunity to make more money and start

investigating, to what degree.. this technology could be incorporated to include them. The Private Blockchain is the key word here, and we will most probably see another flavor of a permissioned

ledger. This will not be good for Bitcoin, and could even be bad... if they develop their own "currency" token to go with this new Private Blockchain.  ::) 

I agree with this.  While my hope is that bitcoin can take off from average joes (decentralized) I am beginning to see that a big company (centralized) will be the catalyst for more adoption.  We have to attract average joes with the big companies.  Whatever works!

 It's not surprising me that big company like walt disney is interested on technlogy behind bitcoin yeah the blockchain,  but I wil surprise that they will adopted bitcoin officially, that's gonna be awesome, in fact not only walt disney some financial organization and some Banks  are interested on depelovment of the blockchain tech

As ever nothing to do with bitcoin. Everything to do with looking to save costs. I wanna see what one of these block chains does in the wild. I still don't quite get it.

When it's not related to Bitcoin what could it be I still wonder where they need someone for such job. And Disney coin can be successful with such name.

really good,another important company start interest to blockchain technology,but i wondering about disney interest,it also mean disney accept bitcoin/or just they want launch disney coin base blockchain technology?

I believe that they wanna to reduce the money they waste inside their trasanctions,would be amazing if they accept bitcoin but well lets do step by step the fact they getting their own blockchain will expose crypto coins.

Wow!  I think that's great (sorta) (maybe....???)!  It's fabulous that a creative group of individuals are going to be wrapping their collective mind around blockchain technology, for sure, because it may provide some legitimacy to bitcoin's blockchain.  But what's scares me about Disney is their vast store of wealth and huge media network.  I'm not quite sure we can trust that mouse!

Seems like everyone wants their private blockchain now.

Well, its competition, so it's ok. But we will all know which one will win.

In this case it's not a competition.
It may be just a new POS coin and they can add whatever additional info they want on its blockchain.
Of course, it will exist only on Dissney's network.

I will jump for joy, when I can book Day Pass tickets online or pay for rides using my phone and a QR code and do all this with Bitcoin. They are not pushing Bitcoin into their Theme Park and taking it mainstream. This is just them, testing the water and experimenting to see where they can streamline their business using Blockchain technology. The integration of Bitcoin into the theme park, might only come in the future when Bitcoin goes mainstream and more people demand for it. There is no immediate need for it now, so they will just play around with it now. If and when it makes more profits for them, they will adopt it 100% in future. ^smile^

That sounds stupid, if it's not a public chain, then what's the point of it?

Can't they just store all data in a SQL database, it seems cheaper that way, if its centralized anyway.

Well they will work on their blochchain soo it will be private for sure,or atleast centralized,and i doubt they would really like to share the ammount they work daily,,one thing is already know making this public will give more attention to bitcoin as the main blockchain has been developed to it.
