I'm wondering that they are still around.
I think it's just a question of time before they will disappear.
They had been good once.

i hope not. i like btc-e and it would be a shame to see another good exchanger go down this soon.
besides it looks like everything is ok now since the site is up and running for me. maybe it was some kind of DDoS or something like that which made them unavailable?!

I agree that BTC-E lost its shine, but I use BTC-E mainly because they don't force me verify myself in order to do some trading and to withdraw my coins. No questions being asked, which is what attracts me.

that sounds a little bit bad for me.
OP would you like to tell me advantages and disadvantages of this offline website?
I actually have no idea about offline btc-e.

It is stuck in time. Doesnt evolve. I gave up on BTCE due to those risks... looks abandoned

are you just making accusation out of nowhere or do you actually have any proof of them being abandoned? explain please.

because i am using their services and i don't see any problems, and going offline for a short while is not enough to make me worried (i didn't even see the offline state). so i want to know do i have a reason to be worried or not?

maybe I'm overthinking but I suspect that one of these days they'll go down and never come back again. taking a lot of bitcoins with them.

I sincerely hope this will not happen. This is one of the oldest exchanges and the owner should do their best to keep it alive.

However, to be safe, user shouldn't keep too much BTC or USD in exchanges, regardless which exchange you are using.

Too bad, it used to be more reliable.  Bitcoin and the crypto world really need safe exchanges and I think that things are going more in this direction.

We have good exchanges, but "safe exchanges" IMO we'll never have that. As long as hot wallets stay online there'll always the risk of hackers getting access to that. The best way still is to protect yourself. Never leave funds online.
