Title: No OpenCL on Video card
Post by: theGECK on June 09, 2011, 09:41:58 PM
So, I leave for a few weeks, and you take the price of BTC and make it 30x. And you do it right after I sold my BTC and forgot to check my account. Shame on you all - I would have made $1,500 instead of the $50 I sold at. Ah, Cest la Vie.

So, I'm trying to use Kiv's GUI miner (Nice improvements in it, BTW) and can't get it to recognize my card, a 5870 that worked in my last machine. I see in that thread that it says to change drivers to a new version and that clears it up sometimes - my questions is that I'm having trouble finding out what driver version I'm using right now.

I'm running Stream 2.1, if that matters.

Glad to be back!

What version you're using now doesn't matter, just update to the newest available... which also should update your SDK to 2.4, some people say it reduces preformance but i personally haven't seen any of that nonsense on my 4850x2 nor my 5850...

Also you might be better off using Phoenix with phatk kernel, at least i get around 20mhash/s more with it on my 5850 :)

Edit: also make sure the card is getting enough power and that you have a dummy plug/extra screen attacted to the card if it's a second card in your system :)

Card is working, I forgot to mention that GPU Caps Viewer reports OpenCL.

Code:
OpenCL 1.0 ATI-Stream-v2.1 (145)
Driver CAL 1.4.815

Is the driver mentioned above the video card driver I'm using, or the OpenCL driver?
