Title: low price Setup Mining
Post by: Mandrax on April 01, 2016, 09:54:30 PM
Hi, i'm new and i wanna know more about a good mining. I know that mining BTC it is not fair!
high waste of energy for small gain... so I thought it is better to focus on other crypto currencies ! Using Pool mining like Multipool.
Which setup to use is a good Deal ?
What do you think?

Pretty much everyone is using a pool nowadays, so that won't make it fairer for you (it's the same statistically to mine solo anyways).
I think the most popular altcoin for mining is Etheruem right now (https://forum.ethereum.org/categories/mining)

Keep in mind that different coins have different hashing algorithms, meaning you won't mine with the same gear to be efficient.

Pools are good for earning, you will get very little on our own without many GHs.

You need to estimate your profits and losses of mining Bitcoins alogng with your ROI.

Bitmaintech still seems to be quite good.

The Antminer S7 promises 4.4+ TeraHashes per Second for ~£500.
You can go to hashnest.com (run by bitmain) and purchase an S7 for £500. which have currently 44% maintenance fees.
The maintenance fees are aslo fixed at a specific amount of USD.

If you want to do domestic mining for a cheaper price as a hobby, you could try an Antminer U3.
This is around £40 and is 60+ GHs.

Or, you could try purchasing a used antminer s5, s4 or s4+ which may still deliver profit.

You cant really solo mine, unless you got a serious amount of capital.

And even then why bother doing it alone, when others are already adding hash power on a pool.

As for your question, go buy a bitmain cloud contract and you wont have to worry about overhead or setting up.

you need to check your electricity first, aside from the fact that you want to mine btc or other alt, it may be both unprofitable for you

with very low electricity you can buy a s7 and make some profit with bitcoin mining, but i would wait for the next 14/16nm before entering in play right now
