Title: Easiest way to sell paper wallets
Post by: LogicalUnit on April 03, 2016, 11:13:01 AM
Hi everyone,

I have three paper wallets with 1 BTC on each. I would like to sell them for AUD$500 each.

What's the best/safest way to do this?

Use bitcointalk of course. Start a thread in Marketplace>Goods https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0) section with description of your offer.
And pick reputable Escrow service to secure the deal. This way you won't be scammed by anyone.

isn't the price of each wallet little high? the bitcoin price is 415 to 420,. why you want to buy your paper wallet for 500$?  I am just wondering. I didn't used paper wallet ever so may be your price is fair.

500AUD(Australian Dollar) is 384 USD (US Dollar) so it's undervalue.
OP if you found any buyer and he is ok to send first the money then it's ok, otherwise i would suggest to contact an escrow so both of you will be safe.

I think for selling a paper wallet you have to meet the people who want to buy in person, because the buyer must send the Bitcoin from the Paper Wallet to his wallet directly after the payment was done. If you use a shipping method, that won't be possible because it's too risky.
1 BTC is not a small amount,

Are you only looking to do cash trades (Person to person)? Or do you accept other payment methods? Only asking because if you do accept other payment methods then you can simply load up those bitcoins in a wallet and sell them online without the paper, which would be much more convenient.

And if this is true:

Then anyone would take it off your hands very easily for that discounted amount. But if you're only looking to cash trades, then try Localbitcoins and search buyers near you.

post it on goods section, have you try it?
i think its good rates, but i dont know how much AUD$500 in dollar ;D
and i think the safest way is use escrow and pay that escrow with your funds.

What's the point of selling them like that? Redeem them and sell them on an exchange or localbitcoins. Way, way less hassle and risk.

How can one be sure that you will not sweep the wallet just after receiving cash?  preffered method is via localbitcoins or an exchange like coinbase or bitstamp to get the money.

Only just noticed this thread - Are you in Australia?  Do you still have them?  What's the wallet address?  (to verify that you have coins for sale).
